How powerful is this hammer of hers? How do I know if I'm better off using a magic item or this special ability? How long does it last?

    TIA

Branwen's Spiritual Hammer is a handy weapon to have early game, because from my experiments it grants her a +4 THAC0 bonus - very useful for a low-level cleric as their THAC0 is generally rubbish. Damage isn't great, though, so you're generally better off using Ashideena +2 at higher levels. IIRC, the damage isn't really any more than a normal Warhammer; maybe +1 at most. Duration is also plenty; often enough for a couple of fights, but not always. Mind you, you don't want these kind of spells lasting too long anyway, as they won't let you switch weapons whilst they're active.

I seem to recall it being +4, though I'm not sure if this is true or not. As to duration, I have no idea as to the exact number.

EDIT: The Magpie beat me to it, and with more idea of what he's talking about to boot!

Branwen's special ability is a 10x duration Spiritual Hammer. The Spiritual Hammer's stats (whether by spell or Branwen) are:

    THAC0: +4
    Damage: 1d4+2
    Speed Factor: 2

It's marked as magical with no enchantment, I think so it won't break but won't hit anything that requires a magical weapon. (There may be something that adds an enchantment, but I don't see it.) It might be pretty helpful in the really early game, but Ashideena (available early from Bassilus) kicks its ass up and down the Sword Coast.

Does her hammer actually have range, like in the spell description?

    I don't believe so, no.
