2 men went hunting in the woods. they set camp and walked 1 mile south. spotted a deer and wounded it. they followed the deer tracks heading east. and killed after tracking it for a mile. with their catch, they move 1 mile north and reached their camp only to see that was ravaged by a bear.

question : what is the color of the bear?

  2. Who cares what color the bear is..i want to know how they went one mile north and never went west and managed to get to their camp..

[IMG] It is white, because it's a polar bear.

But ehh is there a forest at the north pole? Or am I off track? Or is it the south pole that has polar bears?

Regardless, I say the bear is white.

If no one sees the bear does it still visually exist?

Edit: The bear does not exist, are no polar bears on North Pole... IIRC. It was Santa's Elves who did it :)

In case you really don't understand:

Since the earth is not flat (as some might still believe) but a spheroid, if you start at the north pole and travel south, you travel along a meridian. Going east, you travel along a parallel, and going north, you once again travel along a meridian back to the pole.

You could actually travel any distance east (or west) and still be only 1 mile from your camp at the north pole.

Hmm...unfortunately, there are no woods at the north pole (it's on pack ice over the Arctic Ocean) and no deer...not sure if polar bears go that far out onto the pack ice either (ice might be too thick to get to seals)...but, kind of a clever little puzzle ;)

    How about this:

A man walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a gun and points it at the man. The man says "Thank you" and leaves.

Why did the man thank the bartender?

The world is round? Are you sure? If this is true, I can stop worrying about what's on the flip side. :p

Because the man had the hiccups. Or because he was using some tone of language or inunendo that the bartender seriously did not like.

Hiccups is correct - give that man a...well, a glass of water I guess.

  13. I WOULD'VE said the bear was multi-colored... but I guess it's wrong since it was a polar bear. And way back, about what happens if you see no bear...?

    See no problems,

If this is true, blind people are sure lucky. ;)

Hmm... so the camp was at the north pole? Couldn't it also be 1 mile north of a 1 mile long paralel near the south pole? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

[IMG] Gnolyn Lochbreaker: Just my personal view but if I go up to a bartender and ask for a glass of water and he pulls a gun on me, then sure that would probably cure my hiccups but what if I genuinely wanted a glass of water because I was thirsty or something like that?

    Vukodlak,

There are no Polar Bears in the Antarctic. So nope, had to be North Pole.

And there are no forests on the north pole, not to mention deer. But mathematically isn't that another correct solution?
