Between the Elven court bow +3 and the Ripper +2 which is the better bow?
If you have proficiency in two handed sword and then add a proficiency slot to two handed weapon style, does that give more bonuses when you use the two handed sword?

Well, it depends... The Ripper does more damage but the Elven Court Bow gives more to to hit. I'd say the question is: Do you need the extra points to to hit (it depends on character level and DEX)? If not, why not go for the +2 to damage? I'd probably go with the Ripper - or the Strong Arm which is even better.

You get the bonusses from Two Handed Weapon Style as long as you have a two handed weapon equipped. How many points you have invested in that particular weapon dosn't effect the weapon style bonus.

So if I understand correctly if I have a proficiency on two handed sword as well as two handed weapon style I don't get bonuses from my two handed weapon style when I have a two handed sword equiped. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Bonuses from the two-handed weapon style and two-handed sword proficiencies stack, so both bonuses will apply. What Victor was trying to point out is that the two-handed weapon style bonus will apply to any two-handed melee weapon, i.e. staves, spears, and halberds in addition to two-handed swords.

I prefer the Heartseeker+3, found in the Windspear Hills. Two-handed weapon style works with all two-handed MELEE weapons and stacks with whatever proficiency bonuses you may have in them.

Depends. If you're character already has a lot of levels, a high dexterity, and some proficiencies invested in long bows, an extra to-hit bonus won't make any difference, especially as you level up.

But, the biggest disadvantage of ranged weapons is lower damage. Hence, as a rule of thumb, personally, I always go for a weapon that can do higher damage per hit.

For this reason, I would recommend the Ripper +2.

I havent ever killed drizzt and his crew in SoA, but from some background knowledge of the drizzt saga i think the 'gurls' bow is the heartseeker or something right?

What does it do in Baldurs Gate?

It's a Tansheron Short bow +3, requires no ammunition and stacks with ammunition.

You can buy one in Trademeet, by this time you can have the Gesen +4 short bow anyway.

But you cannot run from that wizard (Malcho Hapel ?), even if you somehow manage to kill him, he just rises up again and again everywhere

Btw, why not kill him ? I dislike lawful good cheaters :shake:

Don't forget the Tugian(?) Bow, you can get it really early and iirc 3 shots/round. Great against mages.

    My current run:
    Elven Archer - Grand Master in LongBows (unnerfed) - 18/01-19-17-12-14-10 - Level 9 - Composite LongBow +1.
    4 attacks per round - THAC0 = 0 - 12-22 damage per hit.

Who needs the Tuigan :shake: Earliest I have ever killed the Fallen Paladins. :D
