BioWare Hires Francis Lacuna from Dragonlance Adventures

    BioWare has hired Francis Lacuna from the DLA team, starting this June. Here's a piece of what they say on the DLA homepage:

    We start off this update to the news page with some good news and some bad news.

    The good news is that a core member of the DLA team has been hired by BioWare. The bad news is…well… that one of our core modelers will have less time for us now.

    Starting this June, Francis Lacuna, aka “Elryn”, has joined BioWare Corp. as a character artist. For those of you not familiar with Francis’ work, he is the modeler, animator and texture artist who created the Hall of Fame winning Treant model.

    Francis has done quite a lot at DLA – much of which you have not seen except in screen shots here and there. As our top character modeler, he created most of the characters models from DragonLance (which, given the controversy which inherently surrounds such models, we’ve only shown a few of). We have shown his Fizban, Verminaard and Khisanth (below) previously. And yes, he created most of the geom on the DLA Ogre (about which more later).
