I've searched around a bit but not really found all the answers, so here goes!

Ok here's the deal. A friend and myself started a two character (F/T, F/M) multi-player game. We only played for a few days and decided to continue later on. However, since it's a hassle to transport a stationary computer on a regular basis, we decided for him to bring his laptop. The only problem is that he's got Vista on his laptop, but both have XP on our stationaries.

    The two question marks are:

    * I've heard that people have problems with Vista vs BG2. How do we make it work?

    * Will a MP-game work on one computer with XP and one with Vista?

I might add that I was, and will be, host so all the saves and settings are safe with me and my lovley XP.

Some have reported troubles with Vista and BG2, but not all. It's perhaps better after the 1st service pack?

I think you'll have a hard time connecting XP and Vista, but try via the net.

I would like to know your results.

Have not tried a true multiplayer on Vista, but have tried setting up a multiplayer game to start with all player controlled characters.

Got as far as the starting Multiplayer session then appeared to crash. If left long enough, did progress to the next stage - as in length of time required to prepare tea! From then on though, seemed to work fine.

As for the Vista/XP connectivity, can't comment. In theory should work, however knowing Microsoft - Good Luck!
