    Greetings everyone,

I am currently playing Baldur's Gate 1 with the TSC expansion and I one day intend on importing my character into Baldur's Gate 2.

I have some questions about the import process:

    1. Does just the main character import over? or the entire party from the last save?

    2. Does your character import over with his/her special skills gained during the course of Baldur's Gate? For example, during dreams I have acquired 2 light heals, and a slow poison spell. (my character is a Paladin)

    3. Does your character import naked? Or do you start with the items you had in BG1? Do you start out with any coin from your previous game?

    4. If your character is a rogue do the skills acquired in Lock Picks, Pick Pocket, etc transfer over at the same percentages?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

just your main character gets imported. and you will keep your stats and special powers you have gianed through the course of BG1, including thieving skills. you wont have any of the equipment though, so you start off BG2 in the buff.

Almost - there is all the special equipment you collected in BG-1 still in you char´s inventory though it is deleted when you start a new game.

When you start a MP-game and import your char as a second PC there is everything still left on him - ready to go and fully equipped he can join the battle ;)

[IMG] Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - I overread that: THIEVING ABILITIES! How could that happen, TO ME?

Yes, you remain all the skill points you got but they are to be redistributed for the stealth-ability of BG-1 is to be divided in <move silent> and <hide in shadows>. Additionally there are the new skills <set traps> and <detect illusion> (though I never found that really useful) to spend some points on.

[IMG] Wingfoot, I didn´t say that I did so - I just know that it is possible :D
I found out about it accidentally during a MP-Game with a friend where he was some kinda surprised what nice stuff I carried around while he was "naked".

I once heard that, if you import your character, you can find your stuff back.
That is, if in the 'normal' game you find a longsword +1, you can now find your trusty langsword +2 +1 cold from Greywolf (or something).
But all the stuff from BG1 isn't very usefull in BG2, because the monsters are about 10 times stronger...
Although there were a couple of real cool items in BG1!

I think that this most probably is a legend. I found my good old shadow armor at Maer`Var (haha) and the shortsword of backstabbing was a gift of Renal (hoho), but that´s it. All this stuff isn´t there because you had it in your inventory before - the places never change.

[IMG] You can find most of the better weapons from BG1 in BG2, but not because you'd have them on your character when importing him over to BG2, but simply because Bioware put them in the game again.
Like, you will always find the Helm of Balduran in Jon's dungeon, even if you start a new half-orc character. Same goes for all others...
