Do mods for Baldur's Gate 2 affect BG 1 if you are using Tutu?

Depends on the mod. With Tutu you use the BG2 gameset and interface to play BG1, so mods working for regular BG2 may work. Kits will work for instance, NPCs won't (for obvious reasons).
What mod are you thinking about?

The mods I'm thinking of specifically are the ones which affect classes: for exaple, Ashes Of Embers, Rogue Rebalancing and Divine Remix.

-I have a question as well; can I still play vanilla BG1 and BG2 while tutu is installed?

AoE, Rogue Rebalancing and Divine Remix should be fine. AoE and Divine Remix were both designed with Tutu in mind and have Tutu-specific components, i.e. Divine Remix lets you (optionally) kit Branwen as a Battleguard of Tempus.

You can not play BG or BG2 while Tutu is installed. You can, however, clone your BG2 install so you could have one Tutu and one BG2 install either manually or by using the Multi-Install Tool.

    Hello -

Have a look at EasyTutu also. It has a much easier installation process, automatically performs the cloning needed so that you are still able to play BG2, and offers a more robust Tutu experience in the form of additional bug fixes and features, which you can read about in its change log.
