BG/BG II Graphics Help

I recently bought a new laptop and have installed BG TOTSC and BGII,
which
both worked just fine on my old PC. Although my laptop has much more
muscle
and graphics power than my old PC did, something is going on when i try
to
play both games. Every item slot and item in my inventory has a black
background and in BG TOTSC when i equip my character with weapons or
armor
he is completley blacked out by a big square and spells are also
trailed
with a series of black squares. Instead of seeing a swarm of
butterflies
around a bush, i see a big black square, and so on. I have tried
everything
i can think of and nothing at all has helped. If someone knows what
is
going on or what i can do to fix it please let me know i am very
thankful.

 

I don't know for sure, but you might have to download the latest patches for TotSC. Also, try messing around under with the graphics tab- there should be some toggles for "Software Transparent BLT" and so on that deal with the problems of transparency. It sounds like your computer isn't drawing the animations or images with transparent backgrounds.

 

Hey thanks alot for your help. I'm kind of new to this so eventually i found out what i needed to do in the graphics options but it made the game run sluggish so then i figured out i had to download Bg TuTu and now everything is better than ever thanks again
