    Torment, followed by BG2

    Why Torment?

It actually made "care" for the NPCs who accompanied me.

    Best:
    1. Baldur's Gate 2
    2. Planescape Torment
    3. Baldur's Gate 1

Never played Fallout, I may pick up a copy later

    Worst:
    1. Diablo 2
    2. Ultima 9

Before I get flamed by the Ultima lovers, let me explain why I hated U9. The game was close to 4 years in developement and was so full of bugs, 3/4 of the people who bought it could not play it. When it was released, the fastest system was an Athlon 800 with a GF1DDR, and U9 pulled in around 10 frames per second. A handful of patches were released, barely getting the game into a playable state, and then Origin closed the official boards, calling the game complete.

I despise any game that is ripped from the womb, even if I thought it had potential.

Has anyone praised Arena or Daggerfall yet?

Not as flashy as BG2, but I think that the first person perspective was great. Stressed out, need to get away? Let your mouse do the hacking, and knock the crap out of a few liches!

Seriously, I thought they were good games. No big parties or interaction (which is a drawback), but the story line was solid, and the combat was great. (and isn't that why we play these games anyway???)

    IWDHOW
    FFVII
    Bard's Tale
    Pool Of Radiance
A couple recent games and a few old ones that were great for their time.

You already know which RPG I'll vote for.

But do you think there are any upcoming titles that I'd like?

What is this Black & White? Why is it good?

    [IMG] Baldur's Gate 1. No doubt. IWD-HoW, BG2 and FF9 come in as a close 2nd. (sorry, haven't played FF8 or FF7 yet)

Baldur's Gate 1 and Planescape: Torment would be my favs. Not that I didn't like the others, but these two are the ones I have most fond memories of.

Not to mention that BG1 spurred me to create this whole Sorcerer's Place empire. ;)

[IMG] I say BG1 and then IWD/HOW and BG2. I didn't care much for Fallout actually. It was cool, but I don't like turn based games and the music and sound gave me the creeps. I haven't plkayed any non-BI games though, either.

    1) Xenogear - best story of all of them
    2) FFVI - old, but still one of the best rpgs ever

Quick Q - How come this site only have AD&D games and not other rpg games like ultmia, wizardy and final fantasy?
