Best/favorite weapon

    I've finished BG and BG2 and have just begun IWD. how do the weapons compare and what is the best weapon in the game, regardless of class?

    I think I would have to say Pale Justice which is a Paladin-only sword.

    It's really difficult to say though because the variety of weapons and their special abilities are vast in this game, so it really depends on what you want. There are weapons that provide better AC or extra attacks or resistances; so many different choices! :)

    [​IMG] I like Pale Justice for my paly....But I love some of the daggers for my F/M/T...

    Blade of Auril (although cursed, it deals good damage and makes your character glow blue)

    Spinesheath - +5 to hit and to damage...Pretty sweet!

    Salamander's Tongue: a forked dagger +3 which also deal 2d4+3 fire damage 25% of the time!

    Fire Kiss: +3 dagger with a 5% chance of doing that Beltyn's Fire thingy....

    Also poison dagger is fun.

    Icewind Dale has some of the most interesting items out there, and since several of these items are random, you're never quite sure what you are going to get.

    I guess the best items depends on what class of character you are playing.

    I primarily play a solo Elf F/M/T, and I think the two BEST weapons are the Long Sword of Action +4, and the Hammer Bow +4. Both of these items add +1 to AC, and the Sword of Action gives you +1 attack per round!

    If you have HOW installed you can get a belt that cast's a perminate Blur on your character which is also cool. I believe that there are more items in IWD/HOW than in BG2 (please correct me if I am wrong).

    [​IMG] There are several weapons who are just amazing...
    for example:

    - Slayer - Its and excelent spear (+5)
    -Demon's breath- One "hell" of a weapon
    -Static two handed sword- Electrical damage, also 25% chances to stun the target...

    And if u have the Dale Keeper...

    - Flame blade- Makes fire damage 100% of times

    Thanks people. Is Pale-Justice a two-handed sword? Also, When I started my first game, I had to make up the entire party. Is there a way (or is it recommended) to start out with only one or two characters? What is the availability of NPC's? Sorry for all the questions. Maybe these things should be addressed in another strand.

    Nope, Pale Justice is an ordinary-looking longsword. Quite difficult to find, though. Also, when you find it, you've almost completed the game, but there are other great longswords to use until then.

    As for the NPCs...Well, I didn't find any who would join you, so I guess that there are none.

    You are supposed to create all the characters you want to play the game with. There are no joinable NPCs.
