    Here is my party:

    Human Druid L:6
    Half-Orc Barbarian L:6
    Tiefling Fighter L:5, ECL:6
    Gold Dwarf Sorcerer L:6
    Lightfoot Halfling Rogue L:6
Drow Demarch of Mask L:5, ECL:7

My question is what should I multi-class my fighter to and at what level? I'm planning on leaving everyone else except maybe my barbarian pure until 15 or 20 for their special abilities and I just can't decide what I want to do with my fighter. Any suggestions will be very helpful

I would suggest an extra cleric for extra healing/support, or mabye a wizard at any level. However, until you have a really high base attack bonus with him and get expertise and weapon specilization, I would stick with fighter. You could also consider a monk, if your scores are high enough and you feel like giving up your armor and stuff.

I was thinking about monks but I would rather go pure to thrity with a monk because of all the cool stuff they get. Cleric will probably do like a morninglord or something, all the fire spells rock.

You might wanna think about giving your fighter a couple of paladin levels, the sword is useful after all ;) . Then again a Thiefling-Paladin

you wont be able to get a paladin if the race is teifling, will you? or is it possible to get a lawful good teifling?

if you can, go for it and get some levels of paladin.

    If you love power, don't multi-class. :p

With the high levels heals and mass heal for your cleric, you won't need any help healing whole group, with 1 spells you heal all group or all hps on target, it pretty much get it covered easily. :p As long as you have 1 person for the traps, 1 for the healing and 1 for the wizard spells and 1 for the tanking, add whatever you like to complete your group the way you like, but multi-class is not usefull at all. To cast a spell level 4 when all your casters cast level 8 spells is pointless IMHO(unless they get such spells as secondary effect of the actual class they are working on, not prime effect(ranger, paladin, bards and the like)).

More levels of actual class is better then new class. Having a warrior level 10 is a lot better then a warrior 5 and wizard 5, your lightning bolt or fireball will lack at any rate beyond any real usefullness, and in melee you will have lost precious to hit bonus. Remember, above level 10 you might like to use power attack more and more, thereby, all to hit bonus is usefull.

Of course, all tanking class fit well together, so a paladin can have some levels of fighter and the like, this is not to be considered like a real multi-class since you don't really lose anything major(trade a few feats for a few class-skills basically).

My only regret was to not have 1 lawfull good in my group when I find they actually put a Holy Avenger at last in a game, would have been worth the 1 level of paladin to have such a weapon in about any party member hands, none where lawfull good althought.

Anyway, it is only an opinion. Having concentration(4) for Maximised attacks might bother you, but...it is a lot less costy then actually bringing some casting low levels at the expenses of you character main career.

I would go Paladin but with the fighter being chaotic good i dont know if I can. I know the whole thing about to hit and the whole spells and just outright power with multi-classing I just don't know what I should do.

Ano, signatures aren't aloud on these boards, but never the less, welcome! :D

    Hi Anofalye!

I saw, your post in "role/roll(/power)" playing thread. I see, you understand or feel good part of the difference between theese two styles.

Now you write about powergaming - many levels of a character are better than MC. I agree - but not fully. Sometimes a nice "mix in" class (only 1 or some levels) helps a character - from roll/power playing part. To get some proficiencies, skills, ... for example. One level ranger means dual wield, ambidexerity for free (if your character wear no, or light armor), fighter clases means proficiences in weapons and armor, palladin means some nice abilities (resistances, disease immunition, ...), ...

But if somebody wants to roleplay in cRPG, his MC decissions should be based on "what his character" does.

Therefore, the correct answer should be: it depends.

Maybe we should discuss what is not a good MC - MC to a sorcerer with character with CHA -3, ...

My favorite MC = Sorcerer x/Paladin of (anything 2. this is especially good for solo play. you get some extra saving throws and the ability to use the Light of Cera Sumat later in the game (only in HoF).

Do you only get Turn Undead if you have 4 levels of paladin?
