I recently finished the DaVinci Code..and I really liked it, and I've heard of Angels and Demons, but could you give a little more detail without ruining the book please? :rolling:

Speaking of Dan Brown -- avoid Digital Fortress.

    Thanks for the advice, AMaster.

I liked "Angels and Demons" more than "The DaVinci Code."

    Kitrax:
It's still starring Robert Langdon, but this time he gets sucked into a scenario hunting a secret society in Vatican City.

Why's that, AMaster? That's the one I was going to read next...

Eh, because it's an otherwise average book which suffers from a horrid climax. The "final puzzle [of doom!]" sported a blindingly obvious solution, but our brilliant, code-breaking, work-for-the-NSA-so-like-they're-smart heroes spent an interminable amount of time attempting to solve it. I don't recall exactly how long it took them (been a while since I read it), but it was certainly a few dozen pages.

And the rest of the book simply wasn't very good; it's not the worst thing I've ever read, but I do wish I hadn't read it. I have better uses for my time and money, such as paying for an internet connection and posting on message boards about the book.

I agree with Amaster, you'de be better of reading Deception Point, which is also not Browns best but it's a hell of a lot better than digital fortress

I'm reading Deception Point now and nearly finished it. I was going to read Digital Fortress after it, for having second thoughts now!

To clinch it for you Barmy, I agree with master and apeman. Digital Fortress sucks. I'd rank them in this order: Angels and Demons, Da Vinci Code, Deception Point. Forget Digital Fortress, reading it was almost as bad as going through Elminster in Hell
