    What foods do you barbeque?

I like thin steaks and hot dogs. Rarely I'll eat chicken breast, but it's a pain to cook.

Same here, except sometimes you'll find onion on the grill as well.

Burgers (especially ones marinated in a Chinese sauce :yum: ), sausages, chicken legs, kebab skewers and occasionally ribs but I'm not too keen on them myself.

Gotta have the sausages, steaks chops and onion!
Kebabs are good but not essential, same with most chicken-based products, I mean they're always good but not exactly essential

Chicken, fish, corn on the cob, or capsicum for me. Maybe sausages as well, but only if they are really good quality ones.

Oh, and pineapple and fried egg as well (so long as the barbecue is on level ground - otherwise the egg slides off the edge).

Well, I will grill, but not barbecue... I hate BBQ sauce. I grill everything... steaks, burgers, chicken, onions, bell peppers, potatoes, bread (grilled garlic bread), fish, ribs (not a big fan, but I help my dad do them), chicken/buffalo wings, venison, lamb, corn (we grow our own corn, it is unbelievably tasty), etc.

You don't have to have BBQ sauce just because you are having a barbecue!

    Bananas.

And of course fish, shrimp, steak, burgers and chicken satay (or saté... chicken on a stick).

Burgers (beef, veggie, or other), sausages of all kinds, steaks, chops, fish, kebabs, pork tenderloin, whole turkey breast, turkey legs, chicken in all configurations, veggies (potatoes, yams, onions, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, asparagus, squash), fruits (plums, peaches, pineapple, apples, melon, bananas).

    Oh, and pizza, too.

I think you're supposed to keep them in their skins and wrap them in foil.
I have vague memories of barbecuing bananas and caramel or something while in the Girl Guides yeaaaars ago.

I never barbecue because I don't like food that isn't cooked properly, and I'm paranoid of giving myself salmonella or something

Yeah, Shell - stuffed bananas and apples roasted over the fire during the camping trip. The Boy Scouts did it too, tho at the time, I wasn't much for the raisins we put in them. :bad:

@Shell: Invest in a meat thermometer, like this one. It's the very best way to make sure that your meat is always cooked just as you like it, no matter what method you use.

How is a barbecue any different from a stove in that respect? The risk is no different inside or outside the house.

^A lot of people don't know how to cook food properly on a BBQ grill. Try eating a hamburger your brother made and finding out it's charred outside and raw inside. This will scar you.

But the risk of under or overcooking is exactly the same on any other cooking appliance.
