Has anyone played it yet? It looks fantastic. Reviews have been off the charts. There's a PC version out, too...though it does seem more controller- than keyboard-friendly (but who knows).

Played at a friend's (he got it for the PS3... or was that the Xbox?). Really not my thing, but if you're a Batman fan, like third-person action-adventure games with lots of interesting ways to take out opponents and don't mind the occasional twitchy combat you'll love it. The presentation is very good, the environments are beautiful (the ones in the Scarecrow world are weird) and it's just very well done. I think it's telling that I liked it even though I'm not a fan of the genre or the comic.

I find this game very enjoyable, normally I would stay away from marvel or any other super hero games like the plague.
I love the voice acting, some of the best Ive seen (except for batman himself) and the codeing seems to work.
It has a good mix of themes, whether a battle is just a slug fest against 20 thugs or a true boss battle, scarecrow has already been mentioned, beautiflly done.

The game is very keyboard friendly, lots of actions are mouse orientated.

I've been playing Arkham Asylum on PC after grabbing it off steam, as it was recommended to me by a friend. I'm about half way through it and it's a great game, though I get the impression i'd find it a little easier with a controller. That being said, i'm doing fine with the mouse & keyboard.

The combat is great fun, very fluid amd intuitive, though no killing. The most fun aspect of the game for me, though, are the stealth pieces. You're in a room with sometimes 5 or 6 enemies, all armed with machine guns, and you have to sneak around and take them out without getting gunned down. It can be a little tricky, but it's very rewarding when you plan a little chain reaction and see it all come together, taking out two or three goons at once.

The voice acting is pretty solid too, particularly the Joker. He goes so far as to taunt his own thugs as you sneak around taking them out.

Also, for the evil slice of you, you can deliberately frighten people, pushing their mental state from "calm" to "terrified", at which point they shoot toward any sound they hear. Great fun to watch.

...Err, this turned out a lot more rambling than intended. Anyway, yeah, it's worth buying, great fun :)

I find that, its better for baddies to be calm, especially at higher difficulties, its harder to sneak up on a terrified opponent.

I've played the game's demo and it's utterly amazing - I'm really looking forward to buying it when it becomes cheaper (though with a 2-year old brother following me all the time I won't really be able to play it...)

And of course voice acting is good - Batman and the Joker are the animated series VA's. The Joker, incidentally, is Mark Hamill, AKA Luke Skywalker - odd to think about, isn't it?

Speaking of the Joker - he's playable in the PS3 version for a few challenge levels, apparently. Anyone know what it's like? The Youtube vids of it looks very fun.

I'll need to check out these challengle levels next time I see my friend. Sounds fun!

Mark Hamill's a very good voice actor. He does bad guys particularly well!
