Which turn out to be a better character?

While the Berserker can attain more than ** in a weapon, I've read over and over that this doesn't make much of a difference in the game.

I initially lean towards the Barbarian for the greater HP's, but I'm actually worried that the increased speed will cause me to outrun my party and get him into trouble!

Barbarian is better as it has greater HP, increased speed, damage res and the lack of plate armour and grandmastery is not that much of a great loss. Beserker Rage is better than the barbarian's and I have to say that my fave is the berserker.
Do a search for a topic as this has been discussed a while back.

Death Rabbit can be expected to make a good argument for the Barbarian soon no doubt :p

Thanks Malovae, I really should have done a search before posting this.

::reading over some older threads now::

I hope I don't hear it from a moderator if I add something to a thread that's a little bit on the old side...

I think barbarian is more powerful, at least for me. I don't use rage that often as I find the disadvantages outweigh the advantages (killing party members is a bad thing). I really enjoy the d12 and the lack of heavy armor is removed by his damage resistance, high hp and white dragon chain (AC -2, same as best full-plate).

Grandmastery? I think its useless. Why waste 3 extra prof. points to gain an extra 1/2 attack per round and more damage than two points?

    Barbarian, all the way.

Neither Barbarians or Berserkers attack party members. Only Minsc does that.

Maybe you will find something useful here .

Btw, I prefer berserker. The grandmastery in weapons will be very powerful indeed, if you dual-wield and he can also wear any plate armour, which barbarian cannot. To me, since a berserker can stike faster and harder than a barbarian, his rage is only meant for difficult encounters, while a barbarian must use his rage most of the time to become powerful.
