[IMG] Well sort of anyway. This might be old news to some of you but I got excited when I saw a game called Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance advertsied for release later this year. The promotional artwork and lettering etc all looks very familiar but - it's for the Play Station. Oh well probably just a port I thought but no it is a whole new game. Unfortunatley, apart from the name it seems to have little to do with our beloved game and seems to be a typical console type RPG. Oh well, if you're interested take a look:

PS Raeding the FAQs makes you glad you have a PC :) for rpg games.

I heard it was more like D2 than BG. I don't think I've seen a RPG moved from a PC to a game system make it in one piece. Something always gets lost in the change. I'm not sure what it is but I never like them as much after the transfer. Is this just me? What's your take on it?

Yeah that's so true... first of all consoles games have to be mass-marketable, so everything has to be, sadly, dumbed down so that everyone doesn't say: this is too confusing *click. Not only that, but the adapters tweak the game to try and make it "better", often trying to "improve" upon games that for the PC were classics and end up pieces of junk for consoles. I first realized this when the UberFPS Wolf3d was adapted to console... sad day indeed...

  4. I think it could be pretty cool actually, as a console game that is. You can't go and compare a console game with a pc game.

Just the artwork will probably make me buy it. And the fact that it is Black Isle that publishes it, make me believe that this may be quality....

[IMG] If you like Diablo, you'll like DA too. But if you don't, stay away. It's a pure Diablo clone with the only difference being the FR environment & monsters.

  6. In other words, I should stay away and spend my money elsewhere.

Hmmm... The local pub will probably like this :D :D

[IMG] I think that it might be pretty cool, acctually. Right now I´m in need of a hack´n´slash game. I´m buying it when it get´s here to Sweden.

Buy Diablo 2 expansion. I've completed it in 4 days with a level 34 druid.
