[IMG] I can almost smell the dungeon!

I can almost hear Imoen whispering in my ear!

I can almost see my blade having an accident on Minscs' stomach.

But most of all, I can see this board exploding with new posts everyday.

If I get this on a Friday, my social life on weekends is going to drop to zero so fast.

I've already decided what I'm going to be as well after reading the 3rd Edition PHB and hopefully the race and class are similar in BG2.

[IMG] I agree that BG2 is not far away. I've read that they are already printing 3 out of the 4 CDs. Just a few more bugs and they're all set. I think it will go Gold this week. I'm guessing I have my shipment by the start of next week. I can't wait!

i cant wait much longer for BG2. i have been keeping myself busy with work and IWD to keep my mind off the release date of BG2. i think this game will keep me busy for a while, there just seems to be so many different ways to go through it.

i read the same thing at BG Chronicles, about CD's 2,3 and 4 being printed already. from what i have seen around various sites, BG2 wont hit the shelves until next week sometime, but that is just word of mouth, and i certanly would love to have the game by this weekend.

i think i will import my Elven Fighter/Thief from BG the first time through, but i really want to play an Archer. i am still undecided on this issue. i'll see when i get the game. i also really like the idea of the Half-Orc Barbarian. i always wanted to play a Half-Orc in PnP, but i never got a chance to.

My choice first time round will be as a Monk. Then after that import my Bard, I know we have to change weapon profs but can we give them kits as well?

Most likely, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to give your imported Bard a kit at the start of the game.

From what I've read, yes, you can convert a BGI character into a character kit for BGII (e.g., your BG bard can be imported as a skald).

I'll also be going with monk. Since that class is so complex in its strengths and weaknesses, I think it will be a great class to play for role playing value. I'm planning on playing up her "simplicity is a virtue" zennishness by giving her true neutral alignment and not allowing her to carry a pack, regardless of strength.
That is, her bottom inventory slots must remain empty. I don't think I'll give her any weapons other than her hands either.

Does anyone know if there are race restrictions on the monk class?

In 3rd Edition, there is no race limit.

In 2nd Edition, Humans only. How they're doing it in BG2 I don't know since they are using 2nd Edition Rules but have 3rd Edition Classes available.

[IMG] Well it's gone 'gold'! I guess it won't be long now. I'd say it's going to be in stores by the middle of next week. And I'll have my copy on my doorstep soon after! I can't wait!

I guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other soon enough, or at least more than we already do! ;)
