Hey! I just recently purchased NWN Platinum and I'm returning to play this great game once again! Now I need a bit of help ...

I was going for a Rogue type, but I would like to add in some wizard levels as well. It's also possible I'll add some Shadow Dancer and Assassin levels but I just don't know how to develop the character after such a long period of time being away from the game.

I think I saw a recommendation about going with a lot of wizard levels first and then assassin levels next as well as some SD levels for the nice abilites but not even adding any rogue levels to the mix. There's ALOT of combos I can use but I just don't know what to do!

Basically I want an arcane character that perform the tasks of a rogue (sneak attacks being the main factor). Any ideas?

Plenty...and for all your possible build queries, I present to you the Uber Clicky of Build Goodness!!!

Mind you, you have to be registered with the Bioware forums and signed in to be able to actually SEE any of the builds...but trust me, its well WORTH it!

PS: You wanted a Rogue/Arcane Archer build, yes? Well, there's like 30 of those available in the archives I linked you up to, so I'm not going to bother pasting any. Just go through the tons of builds available and choose what works for you!

    Enjoy!

If you download the PrC pack, you can build an arcane trickster, which allows you to focus on roguish and arcane skill simultaneously.

Remember that AB in the first 20 levels is important, so if you're planning on taking this character into Epic levels, try to take most of your Rogue levels in the first 20 levels.

Shadowdancers, IMO, are only good for their Hide In Plain Sight ability, which you get at level 1. So taking only a single Shadow Dancer level may be the way to go.

You don't need very many Rogue levels in this game, because of the way you can save up skill points from each level up. You can take one Rogue level at level one and then another at level 8 and get 8 levels worth of Rogue skills for the price of only two Rogue levels. The only thing you need lots of Rogue levels for is Sneak Attack damage (if you're into that) or to get the high level feats after 10 Rogue levels.

Yes I'm really into sneak attacks and it would be nice to obtain a lot of skill points too, as well as advancing in an arcane class ... Although maybe an Assassin would do a better job with the sneak attacks?
