I'm going to play a Druid now, but I can't decide wich kit to have, or to go with the plain Druid. I mean,
Avenger... is the mage spells worth the heavy setbacks?
Totemic Druid... I never use Shapeshifting anyway, if I'm not a Shapeshifter that is . Can Totemic's use the High Level Abilitys "Elemental Translformation"?
Druid... well... rather a Totemic, although if the Totemic can't shapeshift to elementals then...:nono:.
(The only druid I've ever played is Shapeshifter and when you're a Shapeshifter you are Shapeshifted almost permanently. Atleast I was )

    Cheers.

I like tha avenger druid quite much. The so-called drawbacks are just nonsense. The lack of con does not result in a real disadvantage, since the druid class doesn't gain more hp when having a con higher than 16 - so how can the limit to con-16 seriously be considered a disadvantage? The lack of str can be easily compensated by using the standard issue strength enhancers - so what?

The avenger can cast the full range of the powerful druid spells (insect plague, creeping death and such). Additionally, he is allowed to cast some mage spells. All in all the avenger druid is a fine and powerful spellcaster.

Ok, thinking an Avenger then... but they can only have Leather Armor . Can they use the Shadow Dragon scale?
And if I am to solo, what about all locked chest and such? I mean, my Kensai/Mage could cast knock, but Druids can't unlock chests. How will you get the Tooth in the chest located at those annoying Imp's?

    Cheers.

Get your avenger some funny company: Jan Jansen maybe - temporarily if needed, and since an avenger is a spellcaster you might want to have a tank to protect him and to allow him to cast his spells undisturbed. IMO avengers are party animals (I'm no friend of soloing anyway).

Shadow Dragon scale kinda says enough no? :) There are some nice Leathers out there, for example:

    Grandmaster's Armor +6
    Human Flesh +5
    Karajah's Leather Armor
    Orc Leather +3
    Protector of the Second +2
    Shadow Armor
    Skin of the Ghoul +4
    Studded Leather of Thorns +6
    The Night's Gift +5

    (If I remember correctly)

No Shadow dragon scale doesn't say enough :p

This certain "scale mail" is listed as LEAT19 - as a leather armor, it is no scale mail! So I'm pretty sure it can be worn by an avenger - even more since I just checked it in the game ... ;)

Thieves can use the Shadow Dragon Scale, even though they can only use Leather and Studded.

True, I was pleasantly surprised in my current game. I usually used the Nights Gift +5 for scouting and trap removal. I put the Shadow Dragon Scale on my character for use in cleaing out the sewers under the temple district and found that my thieving ablities worked. Awesome armor.

[IMG] Well, the Avenger is ment to be a Spellcaster right? So the lack of Str and Con shouldnt matter too much.

What kinda Mage (apart from Cleric) would you have with Over 16 on Con and Str.
    18 Dex is good enough.

Should've know that the scale is a leather, makes perfect sense. I always call my leathers scale or plate.

Thanx for the correction though... ;)

Con is always good. Look at Edwin; he has 16 Con and yet he dies sometimes (not often though).

My Avenger has these following stats:
    Str-10
    Dex-18
    Con-16
    Int-13
    Wis-18
    Cha-15

    Really good stats IMO.

Is it Shadow Dragon scale, or is it just *made* from Shadow Dragon scales? I don't get these dragon armors...red is plate, blue is scale (or white, I can't recall)...

It's made of dragon scales, though it's not a scale mail. Thieves and Avengers can use it. IIRC it counts as a Leather Armor.

Shadow Dragon Armor is Leather Armor.
