Avatars in BGII

[IMG] I think BGII Is a great Game and it is worth spending a lot of hours playing. BUT i REALLY
hate the avatars, paperdolls, whatever. They are so ugly and especially elves, I mean in BGI male elves looked really cool and now even halflings look cooler than them. There is one good thing though Female dwarves dont have the same Avatar as a male dwarf anymore. Will the Avatars in Neverwinter Nights look the same or will there be new. And tell me mi overreacting or am i right? :(

The avatars ain't that bad at all... most of which are excellent and there is some much welcome variations at LAST!

Humans are not bad, and Elves are pretty kool and now actually are smaller than Humans as it is meant to be. Dwarves are kool and are now definately DIFFERENT from a Halfling and a Gnome. Halflings look wikked as well as the plump gnomes.

IMHO i think u r being picky... and to be honest they are much better than the old ones... and they are EXCELLENTLY animated compared to their old counterparts.

NWN however is looking EVEN better. Can't wait for the nice 3Dness... even though i am getting used to the lucious pre-rendered backgrounds of the Infinity Engine!

I don't like the half elf look at all. Man they really do look bad. But maybe they're supposed to. Anyway, my main gripe is the armor looks really stupid on them. As do their clothes without armor. I know maybe that't how their suppesed to look, but it's a personal opinion.

[IMG] I was thinking the same thing, some of the paper dolls are incredibly ugly, especially the elves. they appear awkwardly scrawny and frail. I'm searching for an accurate description for the armor, and yet with my eloquence and vocabulary, I'm coming up short. The "Curly Q" shoulder plates and wind-blasted heads are comparable to an inbred drag-queen dressed in starched cardboard. As an artist, I was dissappointed to see this, especially after feasting on the new and improved style of the are backdrops.

P.S. If anyone has any idea where a guy might be able to land a job in the fantasy art scene, let me know. I'd appreciate it.

[IMG] Actually one of the first things that annoyed me in BGII when I was playing the beta were the new paper dolls. They're much worse than the original ones. I liked them in BG1 much better. I guess they had to change them to reflect the new color of the backdrop, but still. Most of them were poorly made.
