Hi folks! I've been using the enemy-sited auto pause. I find it very confusing that when an enemy is sited, instead of zeroing in on the enemy, the game zeros in on the character that spotted it. I then have to search for the enemy. This is especially annoying when fighting ankegs, for example, as it takes them a while to come above ground. Why is the game programed like that? Really, what use is it to zero in on the spotter when it's the enemy you need? I've tried turning off the auto pause, but this causes too much damage to my charaters by the time I realize an attack is in progress and where it's coming from. Anyone know of a way to change this? Please tell me it's not like this in Amn and Bhaal...it's such a pain in the neck. Thanks.

well then just set the auto-pause to pause when attacked...when you go to the screen it should have a red arrow pointing to the direction from which you were attacked, so that you know where to look for that enemy.

I always lead the screen ahead of my moving characters, and I usually see the enemies before they see my characters. In SoA and ToB it'll be easier since you can see more of what's around you.

It makes for easier coding when all the auto-pauses just focus on the character, rather than having to code separate paths and a logic branch for something that will likely end up making you move the screen around to see where your characters are anyway. After all, you wouldn't know where the heck it's popping over to, to look at the enemy, and you'd need to get your bearings again. Which would be bound to annoy you too. Lesser of two evils, I guess. ;)

I was afraid it would be something like that--a complicated program. Well, it didn't hurt to ask. I did try the suggested auto-pause attack, but although the dialoge box states I'm under attack, the pause does not take effect until I'm deep into melee and have already taken damage. That requires more attention on the dialoge box than on the game screen. I'll just tolerate it. Thanks for the replies.
