    [​IMG] GamesNET, the network we used to have channels on, does not exist any more. It has been replaced by GameSurge, which is basically the same network, just under a different name. You cannot connect to the GamesNET servers any more, however. The Java chat applets on SP have been updated, so they'll take you where you need to be.

    For those using standalone IRC clients, however, you will need to ADD the server irc.gamesurge.net to your list and connect to it. (#sorcerers)

    Doesn't irc://irc.gamesurge.net/sorcerers take mIRC users to the right channel?

    EDIT: WHAT the **** is wrong with this UBB... i can't make a irc:// link, it's always adding http:// :(

    EDIT2: Is UBB Microsoft or something... i am VERY glad when it's gone...

    That'd work, I think, but it's not the point... People need to add the server and channel to their list, otherwise they'd have to click that link every time to connect.

    The link thing is an issue with UBB, obviously... Linking to IRC servers like that isn't exactly common (and hasn't been around for long). I'd file a bug report, but since we're dumping UBB in the near future anyway, there's no point.

    And no, UBB is not made by MicroSoft.

    What will we use instead of UBB? Am I the only one that have grown to like UBB?

    [​IMG] Connection to irc.gamesnet.net is still available, of course it is empty (1 room only but it is secret, and you cannot use any IRC commands) and you get a message which describes that the service is migrated to gamesurge etc. And after a few seconds, ping-pong events will become fast: 1 ping/per second for me, and if you are not disconnected yet (...by peer) due to the deadly pinging-strike, it will disconnect you (Closing link...). This pinging thing is funny - instead of auto-kill, it seems that they use this to disconnect lost users who most likely wanted to connect to gamesurge.
