I seem to have run into somthing i have never ever had a problem with in the first BG game. I was hoping somone can give me insight on how to fix it. WHen I leave the gnoll fortress I get this error message after the game crashes " an assertion failed in d:/dev/chitin chvidimage.cpp at line number 1072. Anyone ever get this error message and got around it? I tried reinstalling then I tried clearing everything out and keepiong the saved games and restalling -everything- and I still got it.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like something's wrong with your CD. Check for dirt/scratches, but if there's nothing visible you may need to bite the bullet and replace it.

    A little help

    [IMG] Hi there!
Ahh! A damaged cd. (If that's the problem). I had the same problem with my IWD HoF cd and the TotSC cd (they are all original from when they were released, so they are quite old; and I am quite stubborn about replacing them :p). I copied all of the IWD or BG cd's into a different folder and did the install from there. Just tell it where to go at the beginning. Worked like a charm! After that, all you need is the "play" cd in the cd/dvd drive and you're good to go.
I seem to recall another thread somewhere that dealt with how to do this. Just do a search.
    Good luck! :)
