Armor Class

    What is the lowest AC you guys had?

    I had a Gnome Fighter equipped eith the Mithral Plate =2 (AC 0)
    +4 DEX bonus
    +4 Red Knight's Shield
    +2 Ring of Protection
    +1 Black Wolf Talisman
    +3 Helm of the Trusted Defender
    = -14 AC

    I also heard rumours that there is a Glory of Suffering -3 AC Plate. With it you will not be able to wear the +2 ring, so it will make -15.

    You also can get +2 from weapons.

    What can you guys say?

    You can get even lower, temporarily of course, if you cast defensive harmony and protection from evil. This will drop everyone's AC by 6 points! :D Also use a Defender sword such as the +3 Defender Bastard Sword which drops your AC by 2 points.

    I know about all the buff spells and about the defender weapons. I was asking about ARMOR and helms shields etc.

    To add to the list in my above post I found gauntlets of Elven Might - cool stuff. They give you magic strength, AC -1, and bonus to saving throws, so it makes -15 without spells. If you cast Def Harmony and Prot from Evil 10' you get -21.

    Can you get lower?

    [​IMG] got to -15 using magical items only.shield,sword,helm,ring, the tablet with a paw on it, thats it i think.chars a human/fighter.

    IIRC theres a very colorful cloak in TotLM that gives +3 AC AND can be worn with a +2 ring of protection.

    Cloak of Scintillating Colors :)

    Do you guys prefer ring of protection +2 or ring of greater resistance? Especially for warriors who have great saves already except vs spells, the crushing resistance is more useful as some of the toughest baddies inflict crushing damage (iron golems and remorhaz come to mind).

    Erhm, ring of greater resistance and ring of protection + 2 BOTH gives AC bonus of 2 so no difference. Difference is that ring of protection gives +2 to all saving throws while ring of greater resistance gives bonus to saves vs spells of 3 (fighter's worst save I believe) besides 25 percent crushing damage resistance.
