I am interested to find out if anyone has played a Fighter/Mage/Thief successfully.

Any hints as to how to get one off the ground?

Or is this just too much of a dilution to work well?

NB. I don't want to go solo OR limit my number of party members.

Actually I remember reading in one the walk-throughs that because of the exp. cap the differences between a M/T and a F/M/T are negligable.

The way it works out you still have the highest mage casting level that a M/T allows while getting the abilities of a fighter. Theif skills do rise slowly but cap out high enough to take care of all theif responsibilities.

One suggestion...concentrate on disarm traps and open locks...the other skills can be raised with equipment such as armor and boots and the all powerful MercyKiller Ring.

F/M/T rule in my opinion. Very cool roleplaying aspects. In fact, I would say I would be a F/M/T if I was suddenly transported to the Forgotten Realms. I would also be the one of the only people walking around with non-tribal tattoos but that is a different matter entirely.

Nope just realized I couldn't be 'cause I'm human. Ah well. 3rd ed Forgotten Realms then.

    EDIT...

    Just remembered something...
The thieving button is under the special abilities key for F/M/T. Not too big a deal but it annoyed me. I can be easily annoyed by comp games however.

[IMG] I prefer F/T when playing an evil party - Protagonist, Edwin, Viconia and Korgan. Yes, four, not six party members, I like it better that way. It could seem like a F/M/T is not that far behind level wise, but what do you need three classes for when you have other party members?

I've solo'd with a F/M/T and it's brilliant, but that's because you can't depend on someone else then.

    Imagine a F/M/T with an exp-cap remover!

    THAT would be power gaming.

I tryed playing one once but I didnt like it. I prefer things that are more specialized and better at what they do than a f/m/t is. If I solo sometime I might use a f/m/t though just because it would go up levels faster to make up for being weaker in all its classes.
