Any one else want to see a game that lets you overthrow the "Gods"?

TOB, gave me the interest, but it skimped on that. I think it would be quite interesting to control such a powerful being that could do such a thing.
It could be in forgotten relms or whereever.
Anyone else like this idea, or am I the only meglo-omnipitant one here.

You are not the only powerhungry bastard on these boards. Overthrowing the gods and myself topmost in the pandemonium is a life goal but as it is kinda hard irl ill settle to do it in a game.

I don't have a slightest wish to mess with the "gods", thank you.

I want to do that, too!

You can't do that in TOB?

    Damn.

Well, I will be telling people that I want Black & White for christmas... But it doesn't have the struggle to position-part.

    Too bad.

in Pen & Paper D&D, we played a campaign based on Fred Saberhagen's Books of Swords.

We went up agaist the Greek Pantheon as described in Dieties & Demigods. We had some great combats & adventures.

The way the campaign worked was that we all represented a different set of dieties. My friend was a Norse Barbarian, another was an Oriental Fighter/Thief aka ninja, we had a Celtic mage, and I was an Egyptian Archer.

It was one of the best campaigns I've ever played.

Hey!!! Maybe The guys who made TDD, could be persuaded to do such an add on for TOB???? That would be nifty!!! Just downright NIFTY!!!
Battle that nut case Cyric, and Loth, and that stupid Solar, and than turn Viccy into your high prietest and have her start your panteon.

I like it. Is their site back up yet???

[IMG] Several recent retro gaming post made me think of the old game Populous and its sequel; they ruled. I so loved making my little guys into legendary greek heroes and creating huge earthquakes or nasty plagues :D Anyone else remember it?

Well, if you are a power-hungry wanker, then try Dungeon Keeper. You won't technically be a god, but in the eyes of your minions you'll be more than that. Needless to say, you'll be able to ndulge the sadistic side the power-hungry kin has...

  13. Can I play as a "God".Or there is a way to see a battle between them?

[IMG] Why worry? You're obviously already a "God". The 'Forgotten Relms or whatever' is just a lowly servant to your pincient will. Bow, scum, to the mighty powers of the...ahem..."Gods"!

Ah, to destroy the whole Forgotten Realms pantheon, now that would have been fun. :)
Unfortunately, before anyone got that far, mr. Greenwood would have probably said something like:
"Elminster appears and casts a spell on you. You die regardless of saving throws. Elminster then resurrects all the gods you have killed. After that, Elminster is 'suitably awarded' by Mystra."

[IMG] Ooooh poisonous! I love what was just said. But poor ol' Ed. Boo hoo. Being a god would truly be great, but, likewise, even gods have rulers. Most of them are suitably rewarded, too.
