Well, one more than last year

Crashes good, but sometimes they get in way of a good race

NASCAR is great. To bad they don't show it very much here in Holland. And if it is on tv, they only broadcast a recap of race. Perhaps there isn't really a market for it in Europe, just as so many other American sports.

To be honest, I'm not so much a fan of car racing per se, more a fan of watching for crashes. They're the best bit of any car race for me. Hence I try to watch a fair bit of NASCAR and the British Tourers.

Semi-off-topic: Are the other forms of car racing popular in Europe, like Indy and CART? What about motorcycles?

Motor cycles are pretty popular in Europe, but when it comes to four wheel racing, I think most people prefer Formula 1 or touring car champion ships.

I haven't met many Indy or Champ Car fans in Europe, because just like NASCAR, they don't show it very much on tv (at least not in Holland). The kind of racing of American leagues, is a whole lot different from European leagues. Europeans don't have ovals, and the races might seem less spectacular for the Americans. But on the other hand, American racing leagues might seem like wussies to Europeans, because they send the savety car out for every drop of oil, or piece rubber that is on the track. ;)
