Hello. First time poster here. I've played BG-II SoA about 4 times over, but this time I decided to use some of the mods from Sorcerer's palace. For some reason, I don't know if it's related to hte mods or not, but I doubt it, I seem to be getting a really annoying bug. Often, when I try talking to important NPC's, the games says "conversation cannot be initiated, blahblah is busy" and it stays that way for quite a while, on multiple NPCs. Not exactly sure what's causing this, but has anyone else experienced this bug? if yes, any ideas on how to resolve it?

It is mod related for sure.
I never had that problem the first 1½ year I played BG2 unmodded. But after some mods it appeared. The sollution is to exit that area and go right back in and you should be able to talk to the NPC.

But be sure to get the latest patch, not ToB though unless you got ToB installed that is.

Welcome to the board btw :)

I had the same problem. It was solved when I installed the ToB patch.

The mods are not responsible for this bug. It happens because of a problem of the Infinity Engine with the Windows XP and the latest patch for TOB is the one that fixes it.

My understanding was that this is a problem in an unmodded game and is fixed by the latest official patch.

Yep. It happens if you're using Windows XP. Get the patch.
