Would there be a way to open up with Shadowkeeper and find out or something? Pardon my ignorance on these subjects...

I hope that ToB will be able to detect presence of ShitKeeper, and to reward it's user there will be unstoppable "format c:"

    *glower*

LOL! I have never used Shadowkeeper, hence my ignorance. I don't like cheating, but I would be interested in having a sneak peek at the amulet before ToB comes out.

I'm on cable modem at a friend's house where I'm currently staying. I introduced him to BG2, in hopes that we could soon do some MP. Unfortunately, I started reading about interesting things like the killsword. Now I have no trouble creating the killsword, using it once to see how ridiculous it is, and then never using a cheat again. So I thot I'd show my friend. It was pretty funny seeing a silver dragon fall over almost spontaneously.

A week later we started MP. We had made it to Her room and the golems were taking a while showing up, so while his thief was disarming traps, I went back to look for the golems. Unfortunately, I found them, and had to start legging it back, when all of a sudden they turned around. I was trying to figure out how he had gotten around and snuck up behind them when all of a sudden my friend's fighters reappeared by me again. *sigh*

So MP was ruined for me. I handed him some lame excuse about wanting to finish it in SP first. His SP game progressed to the point where all his chars had speed boots and killswords. Sad.

The only other cheat I've used is the one that checks the Romance variables... I was afraid I'd shot my relationship with Aerie completely when I slept with Phaere.

Well, I don't like shadowkeeper, but cheats can be cool.
I had some cheats which give you XXX XP.
So I started a couple characters, each time using the cheat, to maximise their skills, to see how powerful you'd become. The Kensai and the monk came out the best, with the Kensai having an AC of -8. That's better than I've ever had on a character! And he's even without armor or stuff like that!

So in ToB, i'll be a Kensai, or a Monk (cool quivering palm he has, instant kill by hit!)

I've come to the conclusion that powergaming is really pointless and maybe even counterproductive. If you don't have the strongest possible character, it doesn't mean you can't finish the game. It just means you have to use better strategy. This, in turn, actually makes the game more fun. It seems to me that since games are for entertainment, you would be better served by choosing a class that you would enjoy playing, rather than trying to determine which is the most powerful combination.

I do agree with You Capstone. Powergaming is boring. But nevertheless that is only our opion. I have actually found the most entertainment when playing the game without reloading unless all partymember die. This gives me a great feeling of real roleplaying. But again this is my own opinion. others might give a damn about my opinion. I have had a lot of powergamers in my time as DM and they weren't happy without superstats.
So I say we should keep SK around. It can only mean more happy people. Which means Bioware is happy. And with Bioware happy we might get more of theese Excellent computer-RPG games. Perhaps a campaign in Sembia or as far away as hillsfar!! ;) (as a dane I hate that name.Hillsfar. It means something like "say hello to daddy" Can't take that serious.. nope... never...
