That sounds highly unusual, especially considering that the only one it would change to would be neutral evil unless you have the Revised Hell Trials mod installed. It might help if you told us exactly what you did for the challenges, in case you accidentally tripped over onto the evil path.

I've installed kelsey mod, UB, quest pack and NPC flirt pack. during the trial, I've made sure seravok didn't piss me off, didn't kill dragon, sacrifised myself for one of my NPC, didn't use that nymph cloak and gave the sword to that dao thing. have I done anything wrong?

I think the only alignment change it originally did was to make you NE if you choose any bad option. Choosing all good paths just left your alignment untouched :hmm:

 Are you sure you don't have Revised Hell Trials? Perhaps you had it before and it didn't un-install right. Or did they put it in as part of UB? :hmm:

As for a short-term solution, we might be in luck in this instance. I made a scroll to change my alignment to CN with the Cromwell's Smithy utility for one of my games where I wanted the PC to slowly corrupt from CG in BG1, to CN in BG2, to CE after the Slayer business, and finally NE after the Hell Trials. It worked pretty well, and I could e-mail the custom scroll to you; you'd need to have cheats activated to put it in the game, but it's not that hard. What do you think?

sounds good enough. so that scroll will allow me to change my PC's alignment to whatever I want to?

oh and while I'm at it I will ask one more question. if it is the hell revised version, then what choices do I have to make during hell trial to prevent from alignment change?

It's a bit more specific than that; it'll change your alignment directly to CN. You just happen to be in luck that it's one of the two I made. As I said, it's a short-term solution, so you'll still need to find and fix the bug unless you intend to make all your future characters CN. :bad:

Well, you did all the good deeds, so it would have changed you to chaotic good instead, which was why I thought maybe it was an incomplete uninstall. If the new area script had stayed while the rest was gone, it might've defaulted the counter they us to 0, which would make you evil. But since it sounds like you didn't know what the Revised Hell Trials mod entails, I'm going to guess you never installed it, so that can't be the problem. And as far as I can see, UB doesn't include it.

Oddly enough, the Revised Hell Trials mod might be just the fix you're looking for if it's not what caused the problem in the first place. Unfortunately, the site that hosted it seems to be gone now. I suppose I can e-mail you the zip file for that, too. If the address in your profile is current, I'll send both things off right away. :)
