Hi all, I had a rude shock when I found out that the alignment of my main character, a cavalier had change from lawful good to neutral evil.

Here the gist, after playing through SoA straight(no hack or anything), I go into ToB. I revive Sarevok with my soul and have him join my party. I then proceed to first challenge. After the fat ass finished talking, I was attacked by hordes of commoners, some elves, Paladins from Order o the Radiant Heart and finally, Queen Ellesime! Is this why my alignment change or it has something to do with Saravok in my party? Does it matter that my reputation in SoA is 17 and Viconia is my love interest?

I found out only later in the game when I try to turn some undead. Instead of disintergrating, they come under my control!
Out of desperation, I used ShadowKeeper but my alignment is still Lawful good, but in the game under information it is still Neutral Evil! Can somebody help, pls.

Last quesn, I know there are multiple endings. Are they dependent on the main char alignment or group reputation? Thx

are you absolutely sure that your alignment did not change at the end of SoA when you did the challenges before the last (very last) battle with the demons and irinicus???

.. if you did ANY of those challenges in an 'evil' way, your alignment will change to evil...

and you wouldn't really notice until you start ToB..

by the sound of your first challenge room in your pocket plane, you were evil at the start of ToB.....

I was Lawfull evil and became neutral evil after my first conversation with the solar.

May be the answer We give him direct the alignment We should have as a future god...
(Not sure at all just speculating)

[IMG] Same thing happened to me, but even funnier. I was at the temple and being attacked by the swamp horrors and other nasty undeads. So, I had my lawful good (not quite)ranger/cleric turn undead. Not only did all the undead come under my control, but Keldorn started running away in fear.

I went back through the text and wouldn't you know it, I'm lawful evil now and I had just turned poor Keldorn. LOL

I wasn't able to find a way to repair the damage done by the evil path in Hell, so I made another LG R/C in a multi-player game with the exact same stats and replaced the first one (with a little cut and paste). Problem solved.

    It was very funny though.

Using shadowkeeper you can find the SOA endgame affects for your character and just remove the alignment thingy if you feel like it. Never tried it but probably will work.

I have the EXACT same problem!!!! My Cavalier has been Neutral evil since the start of TOB! I made all the "good" choices before fighting Irenicus. (I checked this on an FAQ). This must be a bug. My reputation is 18 and I have not become a fallen paladin, yet my alignment is NE?!?! Anyone have a better explanation than what has been provided.

Alignment will change depending on the things that you do during certain quest. Most quest have an evil and a good way of completing it. If you are Lawful Good then you must do the good way to complete any quest. If you do any evil things like picking pockets, killing people without a lawful good reason, too many slayer changes, giving in to your tainted evil, telling lies ect. Then your alignment has a good chance of changing. Once fallen it is impossible to regain a lawful good alignment. But it is very easy to become evil.
