While I was posting a reply to someone else's topic, I thought about this game. I'm a huge fan of games like Warcraft and TA Kingdoms. Has anyone played Age of Mythology? If so, what is your take on it? Worth getting?

Not worth getting. Even my friend which is an Age of Empires II addict hates it :) And I being a Warcraft III addict hates it, so there's not many kinds of gamers left to like it :D

I found that I really enjoyed the game, though I think that some of the senarios weren't quite as interesting as they could have been.

I think the idea of having the different sytles of gameplay for each race, and I really liked the mythological creatures.

*I have a giant movie size AoM poster in my room I'm ashamed to admit. Yeah, most girls my age have posters of guys. I have game posters, warhammer posters, and giant photos of dragons and snakes as my decor. Yeah, I'm weird*

*Frostbite, that just means that you rock the party that rocks the body WAY more than those other girls* :)

Well...crud. I got pretty pumped up about the possibilities of AOM. The Norse aspect really intrigued me. Sounds like the games leaves a bit to be desired, though..

It's a good thing that everyone has different tastes. Personally i think AOM is a good game, very entertaining. Although it's finished before you know it.

[IMG] It wasn't too bad. Multiplayer seemed a big laggy and I didnt like the setup of it. Single Player was decent. I wouldn't buy it full price, but if it went down, or can you get it used. I'd at least try the game.

Hmm, what to say here?Or write :) The game is not bad but has in my opinion one very bad side - the pathfinding sucks.AGAIN.... You tell your units to attack and what? They start attacking of course hehe, but what?If you are in the enemy town it's 90% sure that 90% of the army attacks BUILDINGS.... and there is no telling what happens when not in town. There is no such thing for the units like attack the closest enemy UNIT.Or attack those who are poor agains you (like mithology units vs humans and heroes vs mythology units). One other thing I personally didn't like was the one time god spell.Just one time per game... Otherwise was a fun game indeed.

What do you mean?Like advising every single unit?I don't find any fun at that.Or tons of units and no matter what loses? But you have limit and when it's full and you attack mostly your opponent has also much units and the chaos starts again...
Also I'm gonna say my brother is BIG fan of Age of Empires series and was waiting this game with real passion. Now he hates it with even greater passion heheh :)

I thought Age of Mythology was the best RTS since Starcraft, not nearly as good as that but the best since. AoM is alot more fun to play than WC3, without much question in my eyes.
