The game takes place during the European Colonization and the Industrial Revolution, finally I can play Holland in an AoE game :D

yeah I saw some of the screens over at gamespy and damn they look great. so this is definitely a game i will look forward two, especially since I really enjoyed both AoE and AoE 2.
Although I do hope they put in some kind of Diplomacy part, so you might focus more on city building and commerce

I'm afraid that wouldn't make the game very realistic. :D

I'm a massive fan of the AoC. Played a hell of lot on Zone over the last 3 years or so.
    AoM was ****.
I hope AoE3 is basically AoC with a better engine. Too many games companies concentrate too much on graphics rather than gameplay.

This game is going to be really cool because of the "home city" aspect. As you go through the game, you will have a home city, which represents your capital in Europe, which you can upgrade to affect your units and technologies abroad. This city levels up, grows and everything, and carries on from game to game.

It seems cool, but I hope that they will include Sweden in the game. I mean, we owned a third of Europe at one point, we HAVE been a great power.

Plus, it would be fun to layeth the smackdown upon people in a strategy game while being Swedish and not a viking, for once.

So far, it's France, England, Spain and Holland as the playable countries.

AoC is Age of Conquest, the expansion to AoE 2 also known as AoK (Age of Kings, though that name is seldom used).

Everyone uses AoC when referring to AoK with the Conquerors expansion.

Sweet... But I hope they wont have too much modern stuff, like lots of guns and stuff, I like it more when they have swords and axes.

Terthe: Hang around in forums discussing the games industry for a while.. You'll hear their mantra "When it's done" so much you'll start abbreviating it.

Thanks for the data re "AoC" guys. It's called Age of Kings here.
