Tal just posted a link in the Chatroom that had a story about one of the princes of England smoking pot.

Being from a country where crown princes marry single mothers and princesses marry pot-smoking gamblers, I failed to see what the fuss was all about.

Tal on the other hand (unofficially and without thinking) compared that to having George W. Bush being a crack addict.

So, what do you guys think?

Personally, I don't care about the royals, as they have little real power. But I'd be really intimidated if the president of the most powerful country in the world was a crack addict, even though Boris Jeltsin did pretty good as an alcoholic president of Russia.

[Edit: "(unofficially and without thinking)" :p No offense meant Tal but I just had to do that. :D]

He is a celebrity so there is always a fuzz about it.

He has no real power like The american president. So this way it is an invalid comparison.

But an addict is an addict so in that way it is a valid comparison.

PS. the comparison with Boris Jeltsin amuse me.

[IMG] Eh, copying something that is said in the chatroom to the boards is like putting something you hear someone say over coffee in the newspaper. Of course it's not exactly a valid comparison, but for the chat's sake I typed something remotely similar in quickly. I actually think before I post something here on the boards, since it sticks around. So in the future Azardu, do me a favour an don't quote unofficial talk. It's bad manners.

I think there should be a hearsay button somewhere. People are always entitled to their opinion. So what if they don't agree with me and they are wrong(hehehehe). They are still entitled to them

[IMG] Kick the little red-headed moron out of the country. Royalties have to behave.

[IMG] I have bad manners? Now there's a newsflash. :p Actually, I just put that part in to make the topic somewhat funnier (it does provide a better context for me to mix Jeltsin into this, after all). No offense meant, as always. ;)

Oh, and don't worry, it will not be held against you. :D

Hehe, this actually kind of reminds me of that Swedish minister, saying when he thought the cameras were off that Norway was the last soviet state.

I hate english-power-people :) They are so annoying.. however it's good that some of them smoke pot :)

In England they have pot smokers wearing crowns, in America we have alcoholic crack heads with DUI tickets spilling from their suits.

George W. Bush's daughter followed in daddy's foot steps and was caught trying to buy Alcohol underage. So if a Prince of England is caught smoking pot, it doesn't suprise me; it was probably from all of the stress of putting up with his horse mouthed father, er...King :).

I rtemember when the current president was elected here in Finland. There was a terrible fuss because she wasn't married but has a daughter, and she was living together with this guy she later married, and she is not a member of the church, and has worked in some sort of leadership position in a group that aims for equality of people with different sexual orientations...

Could you imagine this in, say, USA?

There's no comparison between pot smoking and crack addiction. Marijuana is less addictive than legal drugs such as alcohol, cigarettes, and many over-the-counter medications such as Gravol which are often used recreationally. It does a lot less harm than alcohol and cigarettes too.

Personally, I'm suspicious of people who have never smoked pot- I tend to assume they are rigidly moralistic and no fun at parties. :p
