I can't get the acid elementalist mod to work. I extracted it to the Shadows of Amn folder, but nothing happened. Do I have to extract it to a specific folder? Also, why can't I use the "CLUACONSOLE:SetCurrentXP(80000000)" code without losing the ability to cast spells when I'm using the Darkest Day Module? I just want to be able to install these awesome mods and play them. So what do I do? What specific folders to I have to extract these mod files to?

Hmm, I let the mods put themselves where they like (somewhere in the SoA folder) unless the readme says to stick it somewhere else. I've not heard of this particular mod, so I'm not much help there. Sorry. :(

The CLUA probably doesn't work because that's 80 milliion XP you're wanting. Unless you have an XP cap remover, SoA only goes to 2.7 million iirc.

If you've got the lvl50 mod, you're probably experiencing wrap-around. I'd stick with Level 48 or 49 to be safe, or you could try re-downloading the mod. I think the author fixed that particular problem in the latest version.

On the other hand, if you're just trying to set your character at the 8 million XP cap for ToB (as opposed to the 80 million you seem to be), you should have stuck this in the ToB forum. In that case you'd probably get better help for this problem there.

I'm sorry I can't help much more than that, but I've never tried either of the mods you mentioned. Do you have any other mods that might be interfering with the functioning of the ones you're having trouble with?

Thanks guys. Wow, you guys reply fast! Thanks again. I LOVE Baldur's Gate and have been playing it for four years without any mods. It wasn't until last week when I found this site and I'm eager to have a new experience with the same game. Any recommendations on what mods I should install first?

Dungeon-be-gone (a must for someone that has played the games for 4 years without mods!) and unfinished business.

You extract the mod into the main SoA folder and then install it. Did you do that?

As far as good mods are concerned Weimer's Ease of Use and Upgraded Weapons are great. You should also install the Baldurdash patch before any mods; its list of bug fixes is long.

I'd stay away from the darkest day if you're new to mods. (I'd also stay away from it if you aren't.) It has a lot of bugs and compatibility issues. Go download quest pack, unfinished business, refinements and oversight. You'll have a lot of fun with those mods without introducing a bunch of new bugs to the game. You can pick up Quest pack at Pocket Plane Group. While you are over there you can also grab unfinished business and the banter packs. Grab them also while you are over getting quest pack. You can find Refinements at Spellhold Studios. If you're tired of the ugly paper dolls and weapon graphics in BG2 then grab One Pixel Productions while you are over at Spellhold. Last, but not least, is oversight. Get it at The Gibberlings Three. If you want to browse these sites you are safe with any of the (non-beta) mods hosted at PPG and G3. I'd stay away from the big mods and Total Conversions (like Big Picture or Return to Trademeet) over at Spellhold until you really know what you are doing.

IIRC the acid elementalist kit needs some additional tools to install it, TeamBG or something. I can be mistaken though, i just remember i tried to install it sometime, but i didn't work for some reason.

Thanks Drew! After I'm done with "The Longer Road" mod, I'm going to do as you suggested. By the way, I got the acid elementalist mod to work, but it was only because my dumbass EXTRACTED the files, but never installed anything. But it works now. Thank again guys!
