    This might sound like a really wierd thing to ask on here, but I need to know what the 'time limit' is on being (physically, not legally) able to abort a child?
    A search on the internet has drawn a blank, I'm definite it's on there somewhere, but I'm searching the wrong keywords or something. Was hoping someone here could give me a definitive answer.

    Physically? Approximately 9 months. It gets pretty gruesome the later it is though.

    I don't recall any earlier physical limit, though it's certainly not something I actually put time into researching :)

    I think there's a limit, so to speak (at least in England) before it becomes impossible or just illegal, I'm not sure though, but I'm pretty definite there's some limit.

    AFAIK it's 3 months from conception but don't quote me on that. Something to do with the baby's brain not being developed and not to mention the baby being small enough that the operation is rather 'easy' compared to trying to remove a baby that's been in there 8 months.

    That may be a legal limit, but physically you can abort a pregnancy as long as the woman is still pregnant.

    Thank you for taking the time to reply you two.

    I ask because my girlfriend is late on her period, complaining about feeling sick the last few morning and randomly feels dizzy...
    I'm not ready for a baby to be honest, and I want to know how much breathing space we will have to make a decision after the doctor has confirmed our worries... I think she wants to have it. I'm crapping myself to be honest.

    What you want is the legal limit then, not the physical, and that depends on the laws of where you're from.

    Here's a little something from 8 months ago about abortion limits in England. Seems it was (maybe still is) 6 months, but there was apparently talk about reducing it to 3 months.

    Sorry to hear that.I hope that all will be okay.

    I found site which contains methods of late abortion(how to do abortion in 38th week of pregnancy). So I think that there isn't physical limit, only the legal limit.
    But late abortion can be very dangerous for the pregnant woman.

    Sorry about posting this here, I could always ask one of my parents who are bound to know... but it's a bit difficult asking this kind of question when asked to give a reason why. They don't know, you see.
    Anyway, didn't want to focus on that tbh, just wanted an answer really.

    Let me make this clear: You make out, have a baby, who is part you and part your significant other, and even though you did everything necessary to have a child (sex), now you deny the obligation, and want to say it's not your problem... Smooth going there. I'm not willing to delve into an abortion debate here. I believe there's no point, and your heart is set. And however I look at it, there's one thing I want to say on the time limit:
    There's no time limit for your girlfriend to leave you. Tell her you don't want anything to do with her. After the abortion, she'll dump you or you'll her anyway. Show her this thread and tell her you never actually cared for her, but the sex was great. I'm sure she'll be much better off than with an abortion.

    One thing I do not get. How is it that you don't want a child, but you had sex? I don't get it. Especially if, as you say, your girlfriend is more serious about that whole thing. How could you lie to her?

    Oh, and answer one more question: what will you do if your girlfriend says she will bear the child, and will never agree to an abortion? Will you leave her, saying that "your job is done, you've tried to persuade her" and other crap like that, or will you decide to father that child?
