IIRC When you get Weapon Proficiency slots are not listed in the manual.

Fighters get a new proficiency at levels 9, 12, 15 etc.
Can someone else fill in with the remaining classes?

[IMG] I'm quite sure mages do not get proficiencies that often. I *think* it is something like every sixth level. Maybe Priests get every fourth level and Thieves every fifth level?

This info is in PROFS.2DA :

    2DA V1.0
    0
    FIRST_LEVEL RATE
    MAGE 1 6
    FIGHTER 4 3
    CLERIC 2 4
    THIEF 2 4
    BARD 2 4
    PALADIN 4 3
    DRUID 2 4
    RANGER 4 3
    FIGHTER_MAGE 4 3
    FIGHTER_CLERIC 4 3
    FIGHTER_THIEF 4 3
    FIGHTER_MAGE_THIEF 4 3
    MAGE_THIEF 2 4
    CLERIC_MAGE 2 4
    CLERIC_THIEF 2 4
    FIGHTER_DRUID 4 3
    FIGHTER_MAGE_CLERIC 4 3
    CLERIC_RANGER 4 3
    SORCERER 1 6
    MONK 2 4

First column is number of proficiency points the class starts with, the second is the level that the class gains an extra proficiency point.

So, basically its fighter types: 1/3 levels, cleric: 1/4 levels, and mages: 1/6 levels

[EDIT: Ugh! that table turned out ugly, just use Infinity Explorer to look at the 2da file]
