[IMG] Does anybody know of a patch/mod that transforms a french-spoken version of IWD2 into an english version?

The french version is for sale on ebay, but I prefer to play it in english...

Nope...just buy english..its not THAT expensive anymore. I think you should get it brand new for like 30 dollars, so chances of picking it up somewhere else for less are very good.

Why bother with dodgy patches/mods which might not even work?

You would have to get the English sound files and the Dialog file too (at least as far as I can tell).
I used to play BG1 in French when it first came out, three years later I bought the English version but I couldn't install it on my old PC so I copied the Sound files from the English version and pasted it in my French install, I got the English voices for the NPCs and creatures which was a relief and kept the French text because at that time I had no idea how to change it (the French voices were horrible especially Imoen, in fact only Xzar and Tiax sounded good).
Anyway IWD2 is quite different and I don't know what files would be needed to do this.
I agree with Faraaz: buy it in English.

Don't worry guys, I played through the game on my English version and I'm usually not that keen on "dodgy patches"...
But we are 'core multiplayers and we like to play most of our games on a LAN. And so in that case, it saves us a lot of money if we can buy IWD for 2 dollars on ebay, instead of buying it for 30 dollars in a store... And it would certainly make a difference if we took in account all the games we play on a LAN, because you've probably already guessed that IWD is by far not the only game we play on a network...
But hey, thanks for the input, I guess it was worth a question, no?

If you have both versions then I would assume it would only require to copy and paste the right files: in BG1 IIRC I copied the CRESound.bif and the NPCSound.bif and it worked fine (for the sounds not the texts).
Of course this won't work for IWD2...
