A question about Salvatore's books

Discussion in 'Booktalk' started by Sentry, Apr 9, 2002.

    [IMG] Hey all
A word from me after a long time :) To the point: Whats the sequence of Salvatore's books that share the same storyline? I've read the Legacy of The Drow and I'd like to know where it "fits" - which books are the precursors and which are the successors... If you know what I mean , thanks :).

I think Homeland and Exile are the first two books on Drizzt. They are also the first two books of the first "Drizzt" Trilogy, IIRC. I'm not sure, I only read about the first 20 pages of Homeland, then kinda got sick of it.

Homeland, Exile and Sojourn are the part of the Dark Elf Trilogy and it seems to be the first trilogy on drizzt. OK, it's a start :> The Dark Elf Trilogy is followed by...?

I thought that the first books written about Drizzt were the Icewind Dale trilogy, i.e.:

    The crystal shard
    The streams of silver
    The halfling's gem

Those are the first ones written, not the first ones in chronological order. Dark Elf trilogy is about the lamers first years in the underdark, how he became a tree hugger and how he found his sissy companions in IWD.

I have the entire series (except for Sea of Swords) so here they are, in order:
Homeland, Exile, Sojourn, the Crystal Shard, Silver Streams, the Halfling's Gem, the Legacy, Starless Night, Siege of Darkness, Passage to Dawn, the Silent Blade, the Spine of the World, Servant of the Shard and Sea of Swords.

Its mainly buildup to Dinin killing Nalfein. There is nothing wrong with it, but you need to keep reading. :)

That's what got me hooked...since I knew Dinin was gonna pay someday for murdering his brother.
