This topic has been partially discussed here already. But I thought I'd put up a new one and try to invoke more conversation involving new ideas, and more specifically realism.

    - How important do you think realism should be?
    - How do you see the power of a mage relative to a common warrior should be in a game? In "reality" a mage would be VERY powerful, not like what you see in BG, NWN and other such games.
    - In Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance (books), just a few magic missiles are enough to kill or seriously damage most normal foes. Normal being every fighter, no matter how tough, who don't have good magical defenses on them.
    - How eagerly would you like to see a full 3D-game where magical spells such as Featherfall and Float, and Flight would be put to use?
    - Realtime vs. Turn-based?
    - How important do you think multiplaying is to a game?
    - Which of the following describes your desires and beliefs best in multiplaying:
    1) Turnbased is impossible in multiplay games.
    2) Turnbased would work very well in multiplay
    3) Turnbased would not work well with strangers in the net, but with only a few players who would also be your friends, it would be far better (and guarantee more income for the game-developers) than real-time with many people.

I'm interested in every positive and negative thing you have to say about the so-called realism, as I said. So please post them here. More ideas, and opinions on the ones already posted.

Quasi real time is by far the best, while turn based is just annoying in most cases (see POR:2)

Why would mages be powerful in 'reality'. After all, mages are a thing of fantasy, not reality, so it's up to peoples imagination to how powerful everything is.

Feather fall and flying seems interesting, but wouldn't work well from the classic looking down view.
