A bug in drow city

I was fighting in the pit, beat the first champion, he surrendered, and the priestess came and challenged.

When I talked to the battle manager he said 'watch the battle' or something like that. I waited a little and he still thought the battle was going on. I rested, came back and he was still busy. I CTRL+Yed and tried to console a new one but all drow city turned hostile upon his death.

This was a rather innocent bug but annoying regardless I REALLY enjoyed killing the drows in the arena.


Now I already finished the city quests and had to kill all remaining drows to sate my blood lust. They deserved no less BTW. Still I could not save the surfacer slaves in the pens, they were already gone. Lame.

What was the cause and the way to fix it? Is it a common bug or due to my zillion mods? What say you?

A note, it was my Arcane Fist (MP created pal) which battled the first champion, not my main PC, can this be the cause? Just curious?

 

I recently ran into the same problem, SS. However, it only occurred once on three different run throughs with the same mods (not nearly as many as you have), so I'm assuming it's a rare bug.

 

Hmm I had never encountered this bug before in my modded games, so is it random? Do vanilla games also have it occasionaly?

Is there a work around, like a CLUA console trick? I bet Felinoid knows it!

 

The one thing that I really hate is when Sola runs off for a quest and then just disappears. In my games it's fairly common for him to run to the mindflayer ambush and then not be there or anywhere else for that matter. I recently had a similiar problem with Seamon. I went to the Vulgar Monkey and he told me to steal the horn. I did so, returned to the docks and he was nowhere in sight. I was so pissed. All my saves where after I had gotten the horn, I ended up having to forgoe the Saguian city, along with all the experience, the cloak of mirroring, and about 130,000 dollars in +3 spears and crossbows of speed. sooooo angry.

What you've done is that you've left the city during his teleportation spell, same thing probably happend with Saemon

This will work no matter which duel it is, so use it in good health. (And by good health I mean when you aren't in the middle of a fight, unless you want to fight more than one at once. I'm looking at you, SS. )

As for Sola, there are little things called waits built into his moving scripts. For example, the wait for moving to intercept the illithids is 4 seconds. So if you move to the city entrance and leave before those 4 seconds are up, he won't be finished moving and won't appear. So whenever he goes off for a quest, go do something else quickly first; maybe a duel or something. If you do that he'll always be there, and as a bonus, then he'll actually have a good reason for b****ing to you about being late.
