Hey Do you think this is a good party?

Rowyn (half elf bard, summoning magic)
    Aerie (romance, protective magic)
    Nalia/Imoen (mage & thief)
    Keldorn (tank)
Valygar (scout and backstabber, part-time tank)
    and either
Viconia or Anomen as my cleric, but I'm not sure who.

    Any suggestions, comments or concerns?

You really don't need to have two clerics if your going for balence, but Anomen is a decent fighter so combined with cleric buffing spells he is very tough - and annoying.

    The rest looks good though

Good party. I'd take Anomen, because you'd otherwise be a bit light on muscle, and you'd avoid any possible romance conflicts between Viccy and Aerie.

    BTW, welcome to the Boards!

BTW you really cant use Nalia for your thief... she only has 2 levels of it!

And if you intend to use Imoen (while her skills are sufficent with items&potions)... you only get her back in chapter 4. And if you intend to do all the freeway quests in chapter 2 that is a loooong time without her.
Of course you can do all the quests in chapter 6. And it'll be a greater challenge to beat the game till that time with a lower level party :)

Definitly go with Anomen because there will be conflicts between Aerie/Keldorn and Viconia.

As for a thief for you party, go with Yoshimo. It's very convienient that you get Imoen back right after you lose Yoshimo.

But we're not going to spoil it for you are we Mystra? :p

Anyway, I take it your bard is going to stay at the back playing his lovely song and let everyone else do the work for him. I'd take Anomen, no romance/alignment conflicts and he has the potential to become a far better cleric than you origionally take him for.

Nalia has four levels of thief. She's good enough as one until you get to Spellhold. The only traps she couldn't disarm were ones that Yoshimo also couldn't.

Imoen can disarm almost any trap in SoA, without potions or items. She sucks at stealing and pickpocketing, but those skills aren't that useful for many players anyway.

ok so I tried this party
    Rowyn (h/e bard)
    Aerie
    Jahiera
    Minsc
    Anomen
    Nalia

I didn't like the whole being a bard thing. I want to try this party instead.

    Elven archer (archer & scout)
Aerie (romance, back up mage & cleric)
    Edwin (mage)
    Keldorn (tank)
Yoshimo (thief) --> Imoen (thief & mage)
    Valygar (tank) or Korgan (tank)

Are there gonna be problems with Keldorn and Edwin? Any suggestions?

Bards are better left to smaller parties or solos - or when you've gotten better acquainted with the game. The class is quite powerful, yes, but playing one can be very complicated. In any case, your archer will fit your party much better.

As for Valygar VS Korgan, I suggest you take Korgan since your mages will be need more than just Keldorn for bait. :)
Valygar can do more damage, and can backstab - but he needs a lot of micromanagement to get his job done. He's not also the best choice for a tank.

Keldorn and Edwin won't be having problems, as well as Keldorn and Korgan.
You party's shaping up well - I don't think you need to make any more changes.

    @Rastor
I was pretty sure she had 2 levels of rogue. But i never had her long in my party and its a long time since i did anyway.

    @earl grey
That is a good point... as long as you take Skald kit. Unless you take him, bardsong is completely useless and is not worth playing at all.
But having a skald and 6members party does rock :D

what about Jan? a multiclass Mage/Thief can be just as useful as a DC M/T... I quite like him, funky threads too...

Yep, but if you take on a party too large you'll end up weakening your Bard instead of strengthening it. Check out the Making a Blade FAQ thread in the ToB walkthrough - I've an arguement for this there (first post). It's at the last part - the Versatility Question.
