1st I did a monk, minsc, Jay, anom, and im

2nd I tried the k/m, bu didn't dual till I was level 13 on the Kensai, effectivly leaving him useless till the very end, at which point he was a holy terror, MAYBE better than the final monk.

3rd I started a straight thief, but got bored thinking of the k/m...

Now I wanna start over for real. No Dan Simpson. No gameguide, just a straight, as-it-was-meant-to-be-played game.

So I wanna control two playres. A 100% monk, and a fighter/thief. Go fighter to...7,8,9 then dual over. Maybe go hafling thief/figher multi.

Pick up a few NPCs for their quest, but try to do it with less than four characters.

    thoughts?

I no longer make my own characters except for my main, I enjoy all the complains they give and generally cheer up the mood of the game, so now days i pick a npc i wanna use and i buff em up to what i would make them if i were making a new character, I never add stats though, if i add to dexterity, i will take away from intelligence, wisdom or something else i feel that npc will not need.
I never add items or anything, i just change the stats to what i would make them had i had a chance to edit these chars. i do change proficiances but, i will always take one from here and put 1 over there, never take 1 from here add 5 over there. Just my thoughts, it seems to make the game more.... talkative instead of having 5 guys that do nothing but attack.

In a single person game, There's no such thing as cheating!! Do you think that scientists sitting in a lab decided that a man gets one magic missile for every level??????

    IT'S ARBITRARY!

you know, there's over a hundred ways to play solitaire, and all are valid. It's all in the name of fun, and if fun for someone is starting the game as a level 21 beserker with grand mastery in hammers, weilding the Crom, more power to 'em!
I think it'd get boring pretty fast, but different strokes, for different folks.

    Live and let live.

Now if I came upon that same beserker in a multi-player game, where we all should be playing by the same rules... well that'd be diffent, wouldn't it?

but back to the subject, I'm thinking about grabbing Korgan instead of Minsc, (and still want to get a high rep)but I'm unsure about changing him to chaotic-neutral -vs- his present c/evil.
    Anyone ever try it?

[IMG] No, I didn´t, but why not try to give him the helm of opposite alignment using shadowkeeper (IIRC the only way for it can´t be aquired in BG-2) - that´d be still cheating IMHO but not that grave as changing his aligment totally.

oh yea toast, if you start the game with a leve 21 berserker its not any easier.. its TONS harder just to try it once i immported a lever 20 half-orc berserker, and in umar hills i ran into 5 liches. doing whisperining hills i ran into 3 adamantium golems and 2 liches... nalias castle has none but almost everything else does...

How can there be more monsters?
I know that the important monsters you will come across are stronger if you have a lot of xp...

  9. When I start over, I think I'm going to do the game with 2-3 of my own characters, then let 1-2 npc's come in to interact.

If I do 3, then a kensi-mage, a arrow-shootin' druid (there's a hacked kit for one of those I've found) or half-orc fighter/priest, and a sorcerer or monk. Then, one NPC can cycle in at a time.

If only two, then a kensi-mage and the...ahhh, I don't know! I guess I'll need a tank, since mages are so plentiful I'll always have one with me. Perhaps a monk. Or a swashbuckler dualed to a fighter. Or some useless bard who sings showtunes while his friends are processed into orc-sausage.
