wel to make things more interesting im gunna do a 4 person team this time, my main will be a sorcerer, and im thinking korgon and viconia, but who should be the 4th? another attacker or should i rely on the magic and summoning spells for that? and go for a second mage like Edwin?

If I were you, I'd make another warrior of some sort, maybe a fighter/cleric for the sake of having another healer. I'd take a thief as well, swashbucklers are nice, particularly halflings. Bounty hunters are pretty good too.

Of course you´ll need a thief, no party can be without a thief <shakehead>
And given you need another healer, why not try a cleric-thief?

I am running 4 char parties all the time. This time I have a barbarian, viconia, vorgan and jan.
For the good party I'd take a ranger/cleric, keldorn, nalia and probably minsc or valygar
In your case I'd definitely take a dc thief with any class you like - cleric, fighter or mage

    Why not take Yoshimio?
He's a great party member if I've ever seen one.
Great thieving stats, high strength, funny conversations and INVINCIBLE traps.
Plus, you can dual him to a fighter if you want.
And being important to the plot, he's replaceble by Imoen.

I'd grab a few of the strays for their npc specific quests in the beginning, then I'd develop a K/M or grab Keldorn.

  7. I'm already thinking about this, though I'm not close to finishing and starting over.

Heck, I may start a second game while my large green one gets ready for spellhold.

I'm going to do three created characters, then let 1-2 npc's jump in when I want to do their quests.

One Kensi/Mage is a must. Swords, not words!
One gnome/illusionist/thief to cover the traps and provide second-level spells.
One druid of some kind, for healing and animal generation. Some fighting skills are there, so you get some beef. Focus on wielding good staffs and slings.

Then let NPC's drift in and out.

[IMG] Yoshimo is funny but he crashed my game cause he kept saying...
You need my council, you need my council, you need my council etc. :D

  9. Ok, Jon is dead!

I'm breaking for a while, but am going to put a three-person team of my creation together, then let 1-2 NPC's run in and out.

After reading lots of posts, here's what I think I'm going to do.

    1. Human Berserker dual to Mage (If you pile 2 of your 6 points into into dual wield and the rest into long swords, you sort of Kensify him, minus Kai, plus armor.)

    2. Elf Archer Druid kit that I downloaded. What a mage killer he'll be. Poison arrows, insect summoning. He'd better stay clear of my druid babe, though. She had a bias against green people last time. Not this time.

    3. Someone to dual-wield blunt weapons, hammers and maces and flails, specifically. Another big green priest? Gorgon the Big Green Priest ended up very powerful indeed. Nahh. I'll pick up a Paladin NPC or Aerihead for healing. But someone to deal with undead issues.

So that gives me magic, meat, swords and blunts, arrows, limited healing. I'm not sure about #3, except I need someone to wield blunts.

Ok. What about the first character going swashbuckler>dual mage. That gives me a little thieving ability. Then I don't need to haul Nalia around and listen to her, and the other thieves can go in and out.

    Then what?

well if your making all the characters your self whats the point? just have 1 half orc berserker, 1 human undead hunter (or something) then a cleric/mage and the last spot to let guys come in an out...
if your making all the chars your self its way to easy.

Its more fun to use the chars provided, i took my main as a barbarian, aerie(cleric spells)(i needed a 2nd mage also so viconia wasnt a choice), jan, keldorn. worked out good..

    1. fighter ------> to kick and get the punches. Crom Fayr + equalizer/flail of ages?
    2 A fighter/thief ------> to kick and for traps/locks Celestrial fury + Gesen Bow or a shield.
    3. A cleric/mage ----> Cleric and mage-spells are necessery. Scimitar/mace
    4. Paladin -----> For healing. Carsomyr, Crossbow.

  12. [IMG] IronE,

It was very good fun to use what is provided--no doubt! Now that I've done that, I'm ready to experiment a bit. If I'm going all the way through again (it took 5 months!!! the first time) then I'm determined to do a few things differently.

Like: Kill Kagax, find that guy in red (gaaahhh!) at the docks, figure out the cult of the blind eye....etc.

Perhaps I'll do an all druid party. Interesting role play, and the possibility of casting 8+ insect swarms at a dragon and watching him freak. Or sending 4 creeping dooms into that nasty group of mercenaries in the forest near Underdark exit. Or 8 fire elementals quickly appearing and killing trolls by the dozens.

I dunno. I just look forward to the break. I need more sleep.

[IMG] The fourth man you need is - of course - Haer'Dalis: entertaining, resourceful, a good comrade. (and he is a spellcaster!!!)

  14. Yes, I love how he sings sweet Irish tunes while a Troll is grinding me into sausage.

Seriously, you could be right. His defensive spin is, early in the game, an interesting strategy. You can run him out early, get all the bad guys attention, and then go into defensive spin. They are swinging, and missing, and you are free to do bad things to the spellcasters with the rest of your PC's.
