Could I make Jan into a thief?

    Is there any way to turn Jan, or some other NPC into a straight thief? After Yoshimo's death, I need someone who can become a good thief for my party...

    I had Yoshimo as my thief until the inevitable. After that I just used Imoen.
    She was more than adequate.

    I guess I'll just have to use Jan... I know there's a trick to keep Yoshimo, but that seemed more like a bug than a feature...

    Maybe I could turn Valygur into a thief? I'm thinking that I'll need a good thief for use in the Watchers keep and for in the add on...

    and my main character is a Monk...

    IIRC youurn Jan into a pure thief by changing his class from illusionist-thief to pure thief with shadowkeeper. His magical abilities will disappear then, I think. *Don´t change his thief-level there!

    When loading the game it will show up that Jan can level up now. When youi do so, you can distribute the newly earned thieving ability points where you need them.
