Anyone here played Creaks? I played it this weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes 2D puzzle platformers.

It's a very charming game with great art style. The basic gameplay is you have to figure out how to make your way through rooms that have various beasts blocking your way and eventually you're helping out the bird-like inhabitants against a giant creature destroying their underground dwelling.

Each kind of beast has a different movement mechanic that you exploit to get past them; also they will avoid any light from electric lamps, and if you can catch them in a light cone they will transform into some kind of furniture and stay that way until they are no longer caught in the light cone, and you can drag them around or stand on some of them.

For example the first beast you come across is a mechanical guard dog. They will sit on their rug until you get close to them at which point they will start barking at you, and if you get too close their eyes will turn red and they'll chase after you. They can't climb ladders or cross gaps in the floor so you use those to escape from them. If you escape and they can't see you any more, they'll eventually stop barking and walk back to their rug. If they get caught in a light cone they turn into a chest of drawers that you can for example stand on to reach a ladder that's too high for you to normally reach or drag it onto a pressure plate to activate something in the room (other lights or various kinds of doors).

As you progress, the beasts gradually change so the gameplay never gets old; and there are a lot of interactive paintings throughout the dwelling, many of which are little mini games that you can play.

    I had a lot of fun :)
