    Well, I drink plenty of soda when I watch a movie, so it's impossible for me to hold it that long lol. I cherry pick the odd moment I figure I can miss when I need to go. ;)

    I am fairly sure that I have never needed to go to toilet during a movie in my life. Always try to go just before and just after.

    True, but I thought the same about the second Avatar movie (over 180 minutes) and Dune Part 2 (156 minutes) but they don't have breaks in Dolby Cinema-movies here.... Quite challenging when you had diner with friends before watching the movie. I had to limit my drinks there and just managed to get through. The way of the water was strong in me as well....

    Back in my youth, I never had any issues holding my liquids until the end of the movie. But these days, if I drink the large soda too quickly, my bladder starts to feel like it's about to explode, so I purposefully delay drinking large amounts until the last act. :shake:

    I had to go at least three times each movie. I suppose Coke Zero helps that along too. :shake: I wasn't the only one btw.

    Holding on until the Battle of the Pelennor Fields ended was a true test of willpower.

    But watching the movies again in the big theater was a blast!

    But ... I still wish they didn't do Denethor so dirty in the third movie ... Oh well.

    Well, if you go to a three hours movie from 8 pm til 11 pm, it's not unnatural to have a drink right? You might get thirsty doing without drinks for three hours. It's not about drinking lots, you already had drink before the movie and with just one dring during the movie, it can be hard to make it til the end without a toilet break for a lot of people. Can also be somewhat psychologic :-D As I told, I made it but I had to skip some drinks suring diner to achieve that :-) I prefer a movie break though.

    If I was sitting at home for three hours watching TV I probably wouldn’t normally drink a big soft drink so no real reason to do that if at the movies, especially if it means high chance of it leading to the need for a toilet break during the movie.

    I would have a beer or two. Large soft drinks are not healthy, but sitting in the same position neither. So, better have one or two breaks to go to the loo, have a new beer or tea or whatever you drink, get the blood running again and then continue :-)
