I must have a bug, because it seems that every time I get waylaid I lose reputation points. I should be topped out on reputation by now, but instead I'm at 7 because of this bug.

Does anyone know of a cheat code to increase reputation? If not, will installing the patch do me any good at this point?

    Thanks in advance.

[IMG] Den - I haven't heard of this happening at all before. Normally, the only time your reputation would go down is when you kill an innocent person (some peasant or commoner or other person hanging out in the background) on the street. Or if you are attacked by guards.

When your waylaid, that should just be a regular encounter - with no repercussions. I have the patch installed, but even before then, I had no trouble with this.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Nope. Sounds like guards and cowled wizards are trying to stop him, not thugs or brigands.

[IMG] I haven´t seen something like that. I had to think of killing civilians too.
Did you use some area spells or cast a lightning that hit some people out of sight? That´s what I would think.
Otherwise: Read the combat reports and look for something like: "Peasant: dies".

BTW: Enemies turn red if not invisible.

Actually, it IS a bug, as other folks have posted similar problems (I searched). So I still need a cheat code for reputation...anyone know it?

    Sorry, couldn´t resist.

I don´t think that there´s a cheat code for rep. I would use shadowkeeper to solve your problem, if there´s no other way.

    You can find it here:

Where are you waylaid? If it is outside of town, there is a particular Harper you are supposed to save. If you accidently kill him (fireball, cloudkill) i think you lose rep. That is just one instance that I know of...

Do you still have the first version of BG2 or did you already installed a patch? I know it's a bug that is known..... Unless you did the same stupid thing as I once did: Cast a fireball on an evil person in a room with also some innocent people :)
