I dont know about the pixelated Pool of Radiance but the module
    Pool of Radiance Remastered
played in Neverwinter Nights 2 engine, is a pretty great module. Excellent soundset for one thing.

The original POOLRAD didn't even have a soundset! So that's a start.

The only thing I'd worry about (which I suspect) from the NWN remake is that the map-travel, random events, and all those other things were lost. It's one thing to re-make the maps, but it's another thing to eliminate the mechanics that made the game what it is.

Don't forget the Paladin and Ranger classes. As for sound, I have the Apple II version and it had sound, pretty much the same sound as Curse of the Azure Bonds. The sounds was...Not too bad for an Apple IIe game, considering the lack of sound hardware for the Apple II (IIGS being the sole exception, but that only mattered for IIGS-specific games) and the only way to make sound was to "tweak" the speaker, using an assembly language program to modulate how quickly you tweaked it to produce different tones that would tie up the processor.

There's a fan-made remake of PoR for both Neverwinter Nights 1 and Neverwinter Nights 2. Find them both at the NWN vault. There are remakes of Curse of the Azure Bonds and Secret of the Silver Blades for NWN1 as well.
