My sentiments exactly, though I liked Drizzt better.

Btw, who is that Hatchedman? I don't recall him. But, I usually never recall people I killed in the game. Oh well...

Tarnor the Hatchetman and his cronies are lurking in the sewers beneath the temple district. Not sure why really - it's not exactly a high quality sewer or anything like that - but when you wander along to the northeast corner, you can either pay them 1,000 gold to let you pass or whack them.

I liked the battle in the demon otherworld (via the Planar Sphere quest) a lot, because of the sound effects and landscape. I also thought that the mini – battles throughout Suldanesselar (or however you spell it, I can never remember) were very cool – the graphics were great.

So that's the little bastard. I remember now. Hehe. That was also one fine battle. Also remember the Illithid battle behind the door they are unintensionally protecting.

Planar sphere quest is also cool, so are the Suldanesselar battles. I especially like the battle with (cough) Nizidramanii'yt, my favourite dragon, since you can pay him with all of your loot. Anyone ever did that? I honestly can't believe he'd take all your items away.

I stripped my characters down completely before talking to the dragon, so when I gave him all my stuff, all he got were a few worthless gems.

    Nice trick lord.

You mean the cannibals? Give me the creeps as well. Yes, that would qualify for the top 10 encounters I'm putting together at the moment. Definately.

    More suggestions?

Easily Firkraag... The first time around, this was the battle that sent my heart racing the most... The first dragon I ever saw, the first dragon I ever managed to dispose of!

Ah, what a fight... One paladin, Aerie, Anomen, Nalia, Minsc and Yoshimo against dear old Firkraag. Of course, Nalia, Minsc and Yoshimo died, but so did the Big Red. *wipes some tears out of his eyes* Ahh, those were the days...

Either the dragon battles or the final clearing out of Bodhi's lair.

Dragon battles - because fighting dragons is just so damn cool!
Bodhi's Lair (finale) - well, let's see...cleansing a lair of vampires, rescuing *SPOILER removed :p * from a horrendous fate as a vampire...and best of all; fighting side-by-side with Drizzt Do'Urden once again! "Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!!"

With the Improved Hell Trials installed, the final battle at the Nine Hells is easily the best encounter...

However, the Twisted Rune is too cool to pass up on... dealing with some of the Realms' most fearsome monsters is one heck of a glorious battle...

Ditto with dragons... it's called D&D because dragons are meant to elicit both awe and fear from the players...

Improved Nine Hell's Trial? Is it really that good. It's included with which mod then? I can already imagine the size of the battle, but hey. Let's just agree that there are cool battle plenty in BG2.

The Improved Hell Encounter is included in the Tactics Mod... It improves on the Final Battle so heavily that it is almost impossible to finish.

***SPOILER*** Instead of just battling Slayer Irenicus and 4 demons (2 Baalors and 2 Glabrezus), you'll have to fight 5 fragments of Irenicus himself: a Mordenkainen Sword that has the abilities of the Blackrazor, a warrior that has immunity to all spell levels, a dragon whose breath attacks has no save, a beholder whose rays cannot be reflected by the Shield of Balduran, and Irenicus himself whose various spells(and infinite spell repertoir) can bring your party down in a second.

I've never won the Improved Hell Trials fight. The only fight in the game that I've never got the better of.

Niz, how can you not like the Twisted Rune fight? Okay, it gives you a broken item (Staff Of The Magi), but it draws about three quests together and ends them well with a very tough battle and some diverse enemies.

Although I guess the links aren't always clear without any mods installed. I wish the BG team had made the connections more evident; it would have made finally finding and confronting the Rune that much more enjoyable.

I have no clue what you're talking about.

EDIT: All right I confess. I couldn't beat that quest. I always lost the friggin' fight with the vampire and all. Aside from that demi-ass Kangax I thought I could beat every single enemy. I was wrong... Happy now? ;) (I'm not)
